I’m warning you do not go here. We came in at 5:30 thinking it would be a great early dinner. Big wrong. Never have I ever been to a restaurant so expensive with such an underwhelming and terrible service. Best experience we had was from the guy that filled our water glasses. We waited nearly an hour and a half for our dinner, despite the restaurant being practically empty when we walked in. Literally were only two other tables seated. Table next to us i was overhearing them get a discounted bill because of how long their food also took. Other table across from us sent their plate back. Should have left then…….The $50 dry aged steak we ordered was a brick. Which I guess was reflective of the hour plus it took to cook it. Not sure the “chef” in the back even knows how to cook a steak as there wasn’t a table there that had anything but a well well done hunk of dry meat. Multiple menu items already unavailable before even ordering. This place clearly has a lot of things they need to figure out. No way in hell were we about to wait another hour plus for them to fix the steak. We left after sending back the steak and they still billed us $50 for the two cocktails and the smallest shrimp cocktail plate ever with no apology or offer to comp anything for the inconvenience nor offer anything to even make it right. Left at 7:00 still hungry and entering the rush of dinner traffic. Truly unreal experience. First dining experience in ludington and we ended up at a ponderosa steak house……..which was maybe just a step above this place. You can’t offer a nice dining experience like that without understanding the levels of service and quality you should have. I worked in food service for 7 years and would have been going over the top to correct the customers experience, especially after taking a look at that dry hunk of meat with zero pink in it....
Read moreOur family (my wife and 4 year old) had dinner at Timbers and I felt compelled to leave a review. I’ll start with the good.
The good - They were very accommodating to our 4 year old. Brought her crayons and a water with a fun straw.
The bad - No complimentary bread. Not a big deal but it’s a nice thing at a steakhouse. It took 20 minutes to get our cocktails. My wife’s was okay but mine was a water downed old fashioned that had clearly been sitting for some time before being served. We asked if we could get second drinks with our meal and we’re assured we could. Those drinks were never delivered and we eventually cancelled them. They were out of several steaks so I settled on the T-Bone. I asked for it medium but it was undercooked and I had to trim lots of fat. The mashed potatoes were okay, but nothing to write home about. Overall it was very underwhelming. When the bill came it was $78 for my t-bone, my late watered down cocktail was $14 and I’m glad my second round never came. I don’t mind paying market price but I was truly disappointed in the meal. I would avoid this spot unless you like overpaying for a...
Read moreWent there for New Years eve for a nice dinner. Big mistake. First time there. I didn't know there would be a different menu. It was overpriced & did not have a lobster dinner..which is what I wanted. Could add on for $22, but steaknwas already $42! Ordered steak med rare..closer to rare. Received med on the way to med well. Was asked..do you want me to do something about that? Umm..yes..I would like how I ordered. I returned & got it back after husband was 1/2 done. Done right then. Roasted potatoes were over done and dry. Husband's prime rib was cold & mashed potatoes very basic. Waitress asked 1/2 thru his meal..did you get au jus..umm no. Do you want ..yes..she brought then. No horse radish sauce offered. Also, I asked well into the meal..how do you get some bread like other tables have. She said it is complimentary..do you want some....umm yes please. Not sure why I had to ask. Nothing was offered to make up for the poor meal & sevice. Had 2 beers..kind of thought they would at least pick those up. Bottom line is we paid $100 for a poor meal with poor service....we do not recommend & we will...
