Red Rooster Coffee & Community — Restaurant in Ludington

This was exactly what I was looking for. Visiting my old high school area and family with no internet makes getting my computer related work hard to do while visiting Ludington. I needed a place to enjoy a beverage while having space to check my computer with a strong Wi-Fi signal.

Not only does Red Rooster have Wi-Fi and coffee, but every table is ready for your electronic needs. No waiting for that one table with a hidden outlet to charge your devices. This is why I came here over other local coffee shops. The coffee is also why I'll return.

The two women who made my drink, Lynaea and Allison, were friendly and on top of their busy long line. They were very kind and knew their drinks when I asked questions to narrow down my choice of their seasonal options.

This is a lovely cafe. My 9 year-old and I visited for the first time last week, and I think we must have caught the owner during closing. He was amazing with my kiddo, who was pretty bummed about an unrelated thing; my son wanted a chocolate smoothie of some kind, and although it wasn’t on the menu the owner offered to try to make something that would match what my son was looking for. They concocted a peach-banana-chocolate smoothie (which was actually delicious) and then my son had a blast naming it and documenting it in the cafe’s art book. We left with his mood totally turned around and feeling like he’d invented a new smoothie for the cafe. 😄

It’s a genuine pleasure to visit a place that not only offers delicious coffee, but also straight up kindness. I can’t wait until we’re in town again for...

Coffee is going downhill. It was good until about June/July 2024.

The last few times(4 times+) we have been in it’s getting worse and worse.

This time our lattes were so watered down tasting I could have got better coffee flavor from gas station coffee.

The caramel mocha w/an extra shot of espresso had no coffee flavor and no caramel mocha flavor. It was more like barely sweet water. I find it impossible to believe she put more than a single espresso shot in the cup.

The girl making it spent more time chatting with another customer/friend that came in after us than focusing on making our coffee.

Maybe if the coffee had been amazing I could have forgiven the poor service but the bad service and bad coffee warranted this review.

If you want consistency go to Starbucks or McDonalds...
