Mr. Rays Food Court — Restaurant in Lufkin

We always wanted to try this place so we did and wished we had gone somewhere else. I got the buffet and was very dissatisfied. I tried a little of almost everything. Bland,dry,over cooked and old. Lettuce was really brown. The only redeeming item was the catfish. It was good and fresh. Probably because it was popular. I had the buttermilk pie and it had a good flavor, but very grainy texture. The food is served buffet style, however you can still order items from a menu. My son and I went on a Friday night . The food was delicious, hot, fresh, seasoned well. We enjoyed that the food is like home cooking. The wait staff was friendly, she acknowledged our presence as you seat your self and then a waiter comes to the table to get your drink order. She visited our table frequently to see if we needed anything. It had been a few years since we had been there. It was great to find the food and service was still as good as...

Was really glad to find this hidden gem! Tucked in the backside of a strip center. Food was good not great and I absolutely would return. Salad bar was good, chicken spaghetti hit the spot but for me the real winner was the beef tips. Fried chicken and baked chicken were both pretty good. The only disappointing item was the chicken fried steak. Definitely reccomend checking them out.
