I’ll never go back to this restaurant. Here are my reasons why:
Do not trust the menu! Their taco toppings are spilt. You can either get traditional toppings lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream or onions, cilantro, and lime. I paid for the up charge to get all 6 mostly because I WANTED sour cream. After noticing the missing sour cream, an employee told me told me the menu was wrong, sour cream no longer was an included topping, and had to be purchased separately. The employee who took my order could’ve said that, since I was looking at the menu while ordering.
I was told the wait time would be 10mins. I waited an extra 5-7mins with no update. While waiting, their phone was incessantly ringing and no one cared to answer.
I opened my tray and found 3 corn tortillas wrapped in foil - this is fine. However, the cilantro, raw diced onions, limes, shredded cheese, and shredded lettuce are in the container and not on the tacos. If I order toppings, I expect them to be on the tacos.
Taste - the taste of the corn tortilla chicken, shrimps and steak tacos was okay. I’ve had better, so this was average, at best.
The total cost was $16.49 for THREE corn tortillas with an up charge for all of the toppings (missing sour cream) and for subpar service and ok taste.
Honorable mentions: -There's 3.5% surcharge for using credit card. -Do not trust their hours posted online. Apparently, they close at 8pm on Sunday. I went there thinking they closed at 9 but saw them turn away a family as I was waiting...
Read moreI'm stunned people are not lined up to eat here. This place is special. The ingredients are fresh. The plates are generous. The menu has your favorites and new adventures. I LOVED it. The Cabbage and Potato taquitoes are so beautifully composed, it's hard to not love. They are crispy egg roll type appetizers, with a lightly dressed cabbage slaw on top. Combining all of the pieces makes for a wonderful bite. Franco's Sweet and Salty Banana Boat is delicious. It is a lightly fried plantain stuffed meat (or veggies). We chose chorizo for the filling so that the salty meat would compliment the sweet plantain. Proud to say, our impulse was correct. The street tacos and steak quesadilla were wonderful. Solid choices. My favorite bite? Hands down the Stuffed Poblano. Wow. It feels like something I'll crave forever. The peppers are lightly breaded. There are great sauces decorating the outside.. The pepper itself is stuffed with meat and cheese! But the best part was the pepper itself. It's roasted! The roasted pepper leaves you with a sweet smokiness. Holy sh*t. I can't wait to go back. I'm not joking. This place is spectacular. Suggestions: the first bowl of chips and salsa free. There to be a queso dip appetizer and maybe a churro...
Read moreWe went a few times last week. The food is very good and filling, plus it appears to be fresh. The cost is slightly higher than most other restaurants, but it is entirely different. Cozy atmosphere semi private, colorful booths. We just can't eat fried food every day.
Update: approx,June 21st 2025 we left Rt 38 Steakhouse and wandered back to one of our favorite restaurants, ate and was feeling pretty well fed until the owner accused us of not completly paying our bill the last time we were there. We proceeded to assure him that we have never stiffed a restaurant in our lives and he continued to accuse us and our nephew (who had eaten with us every time we were there) proceeded to hand the owner what he was accusing us of the shortage. (Knowing that we paid). We don't know how he came to his conclusion (the owner/manager) but we certainly will not return. Another restaurant bites the dust. From now on, it'll either be no dining out or only higher end places like The Capital Grill Restaurant. I would rather save up to be treated like a king and a queen with the best service, the best food, and the best experience and not have to worry if the owner/mgr is going to randomly accuse us of not...
