I held off on my review because I'm very excited for a new place on this side of town and don't wish to discourage business.
I will start with positives. Definitely go here. This place is so clean you could eat off the floor. The staff is incredibly helpful and very friendly. The menu is vast. Ask questions before ordering. The shop has a TON of stuff. So many new ingredients for home cooking in lynchburg. Quite impressive .
I only gave a 3 because....TO BE FAIR, I've never had Filipino food, so maybe this was how it's supposed to be..... I wanted to try Filipino food. Not all Filipino dishes are available every day, so I had to get something else. I didn't know that going in. I ordered P6 Bistek with fried rice and Lumpia. I found the rice to be bland, like it wasnt even salted. The lumpia was also bland and a bit oily. The beef was quite tender and tasty, but it was mostly a garlic flavor....I didn't taste the other ingredients. FYI....the red dipping cup is....banana sauce I think (not duck, not s&s). I didn't care for it, but that's a preference thing.
I'll definitely return. And I'll ask more questions so I know what to expect.
I'm looking forward to...
Read moreAs a lover of Asian food, this place is great. You can select from chinese dishes, Japanese, and even Filipino! If you enjoy Asian cuisine from all over, this place is for you! In addition to the food, there is also a small store/market section of the restaurant where you can buy unique foreign snacks, drinks, and foods. For the most part, the service is very good and the staff is kind and helpful. I did have an incident where an employee walked out and quit while I was there, but I have been there multiple times now and that seemed to be an isolated incident stemming from an employee who couldn’t handle working in the food industry. The manager and rest of the staff are very kind and hospitable, always coming over to the table asking if everything is satisfactory. The only negative I can think of is the atmosphere. It feels as if you’re eating in a cafeteria, and the color scheme and theme is very odd. However, if you can get past the visuals, the food and service are WELL worth it. I would love to help this local business stay on the market! Spread the word and please pay...
Read moreUpdate: I went back another time a few weeks ago and forgot to post here, but omg their beef and broccoli was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend it! Can't wait to try the rest of their menu. This is one of my favorite go-to spots now~
Haven't tried much Filipino food before, decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered a coffee smoothie (refreshing!), cream cheese wontons (came with a unique delicious sweet/fruity sauce), and two dishes from the Filipino lunch menu. The first was P1 adobong manok (chicken dish which was sooooo good, I hope they start selling this on its own like a family size rotisserie meal), second was P6 Bistek (steak and onion dish, very flavorful, and the lo mein was so good too, it's worth the upcharge for that side). Both dishes came with lumpia spring rolls and they were FANTASTIC - I want to eat just a tray of these! 😂
Can't wait to come back and try their other stuff, I'm interested in checking out their hibachi/sushi and Ube dessert....
