We went here to celebrate niece's graduation. Three of us were visiting from NY and NJ so being all together was one thing that was important. When we were seated they said they had 2 tables near eachother. As we were taken to a 4 seater and a 6 sester, we noticed there were three 4 seater that could have been put together so we all could have been together. When we asked they refused! I later discussed our displeasure with general manager Mike and he was pleasant but claims this will not change. Sadly our party was separated and at the end the check was enforced with party of 8, 18% gratuity. Our server was pleasant through a difficult situation but she wasn't at a caliber of fantastic. Some of our party felt she knew she would get 18% and she did not provide to proper standard. Needless to say the hospitality here is not perfect! In discussion with manager I requested the 18% be removed, it took some explaining but he accommodated request. I had good food and needed an alcoholic beverage. I had an old fashion and I give highest compliments to the mixologist it was VERY good! My fried cod sandwich was good but batter was not fried through. When I told manager his food was very good in our discussion I explained only issue was batter had not fried fully he immediately credited my check. Tater tots are worth the add! Since this was a rough experience I can't say I would return but if you are not a large party it may be worth a try. The front outside seating has lovely view of...

I had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant overlooking the James River, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the panoramic view—especially at sunset. The setting alone is worth the visit, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop that perfectly complements the dining experience.
The food was nothing short of outstanding. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, clearly prepared with care and fresh ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for some apps, unique burgers or even a salad, the menu has something for everyone, and the quality rivals that of far more expensive establishments.
What truly set the experience apart was the wait staff. They were incredibly attentive without being overbearing—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about making our evening memorable. It felt like they took real pride in their work.
To top it all off, the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the level of service and quality offered. It’s rare to find a spot that delivers such a complete package: amazing views, delicious food, stellar service, and fair prices. We’ll definitely be back—and bringing...
Read moreHighly recommend! Food is, oh!, so good! I should've stopped with the appetizers! Hamburgers are beyond compare. For apps, we had loaded tater tots, pretzel bites and wings...we were too busy stuffing our faces to complain. 😉 We all got hamburgers, again we were too busy stuffing our faces to complain. One in our party didn't realize that she got a vegetarian "burger" until she was half way through her sandwich! In that regard, the restaurant sent her home with a fresh-cooked burger that she originally ordered.
I'm still stuffed!
Service was awesome! Our waitress was on the ball and helpful and friendly. The manager (owner?) stopped by to visit our table and played with our grandson on our way out.
I like the atmosphere. Decor is appropriate for the bootlegging theme. I appreciate the music which took me back to the 80s. 😁 Even so, I personally thought it was too loud...that said, "the music is too loud" is a common complaint from me, so maybe it's me.🙄
Our check was ~$100 for 2 of us, but we ordered 2 large appetizers, 2 burgers, 1 beer (snicker doodle - hubby loved it), 1 soda and a side of sweet potato fries. It was a lot of food...by the way, we shared the apps with the other 4 adults in our party... don't want you to think we're...
