I went over the weekend for Saturday night! This place is in a great location, has good parking, and is well decorated. It was so cheery and fun to walk into out of the rain. The restaurant was freezing and they sat us next to the window and doors that provided a great draft for the entire meal. We all ate wearing our winter coats inside. The food was all delicious. We had the Korean bbq wings, calamari, ramen and one order of gochujang hibachi chicken. The flavors were delightful and the presentation was very beautiful. Where this place lost it for me, was the very poor customer service. We were seated and immediately asked if we wanted to order. Our group wanted to know about the imported beers, and there was no drink list and the waitress couldn't tell them the names of anything in the drink cooler except bud light. After several trips back and forth bringing individual bottles to show, our group settled on one. Once ordered, part of our food appeared to be delivered to another table and they kept bringing other dishes to our table and insisting on leaving them, even thought it was not what we ordered. Then once we summoned a waiter back to our table, they said they had to go make one of the dishes and finally took the wrong foods back. Then we had one person waiting for their food at least 15 minutes after everyone had been served. The wait staff was not checking on us, but did promptly bring us the bill. After this experience, I would place take out orders but never...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a solid Japanese restaurant with good variety, this is your place. I would say that Mizumi’s strongest cuisine are their hibachi meals. They offer generous portions, for fair prices. They also offer a wide variety of appetizers for lovers of all different types of apps. The Gyoza, the Shumai, and the Edamame are my recommendations for appetizers. Another strong point for Mizumi’s is their large amount of desserts to choose from. For dessert, they offer Boba teas, Milk Teas, Soda Refreshers, Milkshakes, and more. I would recommend at least halfing the sugar content as the desserts are very sweet. To assist, they have placed a sugar scale on the side of the menu. (Full sugar, half sugar, no sugar) As far as service, the waiters are very kind and attentive, although there were a few weak points. Menu items coming out late or being forgotten, getting sauce on top when asking for it on the side, etc. These are not the end of the world, but merely points to improve on. I would also like to see more uniformity in the waiters “uniforms” or lack of. It seems the waiters wear what they wish, including sweat pants and slides. This definitely did not come off as professional, but again, not the end of the world. Overall, the food at Mizumi’s is very good, the waiters are nice, and the variety is wide. No restaurant is perfect, hence the weak points mentioned. However, I will definitely be returning...
Read moreHigh hopes dashed! Poor service, food arrived at staggered times - disrespectful to serve entrees apart by 10 MINUTES and appetizer arriving after one entree was served! Seated at 1PM on a Friday (not off hours). Our order was taken and then we waited... My entree was received in a reasonable time - but - BEFORE THE APPETIZER! I mentioned this to the deliverer of food and was told that is the way it came out. We noted that the appetizer should have come first. Five minutes later, the appetizer arrived - but no entree for my wife!!! The waiter came back - anything else you need? YES - MY WIFE'S entree! Four to five minutes later it arrived which happened to be 3 minutes AFTER a couple received their food - and they arrived 5-10 minutes after we did. While my entree was tasty, do NOT order the Hibachi Chicken and anything else. The chicken was overcooked and tough - my wife never finished the chicken. We ate and then waited... until another server finally came to check on us. NO FOLLOW UP BY THE SERVER after our food was delivered (embarrassed?). One minor inconvenience... it was difficult to eat the chicken strips in my meal without a knife - I received one after asking halfway through our meal.
A lunch gone wrong - maybe an off day? For a $35 lunch I expect a bit more (and no offer to...
