Father’s Cafe and Bakery — Restaurant in Lynchburg

I just experienced Southern Hospitality to the maximum this past 4th of July, in a 1000% positive experience! We were just passing by this town for the day. It’s a huge holiday and everything is closed. My husband is trying to get a place where we can have brunch with our family of six (6). He called different places until he reach, Wendy (owner) of this place. She was definitely godsend! She told him they were closed for the day but working in the bakery to get things ready for the next day. Long story short, she told him to pass by the location and we can get some food. We ordered a lot of food. That chicken rotisserie sandwich was the best I have had in my lifetime. All the pastries, parfait and scones were delicious! Just inside the Lynchburg Community Market doors and to the right past Barb's Dream Hut, you'll find this delectable little bakery. It's a favorite stop (one of many) when we're downtown. The oatmeal whoopee pie pictured is amazing, and after trying several of their offerings, I will not stray from this being my favorite! My boys are fond of their donuts and croissants. Most recently we tried their lunch menu special of chicken pot pie, a cookie, and a roll which was packaged to-go style due to Covid. It was tasty, satisfying, and reasonably priced. I stopped by to grab a croissant for my wife and was pleasantly surprised to see they have savory options. The spinach/feta stuffed croissant was so good it’s difficult to put into words. I could’ve eaten three in a row.
