Not sure if we came on a bad day or what happened. Straight to the point the table we were day at outside was uneven wobbly and not cleaned up. The menus were soaked from being out in the rain previously. We ordered our food and our appitizers were great! Delicious nice and warm. Our main meals we ordered we not. Not being hungry I had one of their Mac and Cheese dishes same with one of my friends and my other buddy a burger. All our food were cold when delivered. On top of that our Mac and cheese dishes has a dried dehydrated crunchy top that happens when the dish has been made but set out for a period of time. No silverware was ever given to us either but instead we had to go inside and get some ourselves.

Now the quality of the food was so so. I'd give it a 6/10 for the Mac and cheese dish. My buddy who had the burger though cold said it wasn't bad and would've been better if warm and fresh.

If you're looking for drink options this place specializes in bourbon whiskey mixed drinks and other traditional beverage beer choices. Prices for them are typical ranging from 5 to 10$ depending on the kind of drink. Lots of classics like a Moscow mule to more local favorites like a hillcat lemonade. And yes ladies they do have wine.

They had a live band playing when we went that was pretty good to listen too. Aesthetic of the overall place is very cool! It's one of the few places in the downtown lynchburg area that feels like a good local bar food area. Do be warmed they don't have on site parking. I had to park a few blocks away and walk but that's just because the few spots they have were full up, only about 6 parking spots next to the property itself.

Overall I'd give it a 7/10. I'm willing to go again on a not so busy Saturday evening and maybe it will be a better experience but as always first impression are always the most important. I'd your in the 5th ST roundabout area looking for bbq and bourbon...

Fifth and Federal has great food and a good selection of whiskey to choose from. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating around their big fire pit. However, they seemed to be lacking in the service department. When we arrived, there was no hostess anywhere around to greet us, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before one showed up. Then, when we ordered, we asked for water, two alcoholic beverages, an appetizer, and our entrees. The alcoholic beverages were brought out relatively quickly, and the entrees did not take too long. But, the waters and appetizer were not brought out until we were almost done with our meal. And I don't entirely fault our waitress for that. I think they need to hire more waitresses because the one we had seemed to have too many customers to handle by herself. This is poor management on Fifth and Federal's part. Once they fix these issues, they could be an...

Decent Food, Okay Service.

First off, this is a good place to get real BBQ meats. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the food. The fresh crackling (aka pork skins) was something I've never seen done in a restaurant.

The caveats? There is no parking. They took the old parking area and turned it into an outdoor eating section. I wasn't sure where to park. The wait was an hour long. We tried to get drinks from the bar while we waited and it took about 20 minutes to get noticed. Then they messed up our checks at the bar. The appetizers and meal were paced nicely, which is a good thing. However, when it came time to pay the bill, the waitress messed up our checks yet again.

Overall the food wasn't bad, but it was marred by bad service at every step. The restaurant just opened; so maybe they haven't found their groove yet. I'm going to wait till the end of summer 2017...

we ate at fifth and federal today, and I couldn't be happier. The only downside that I found the whole time we were here was one song in particular that played that was a little bit vulgar for my taste. I don't blame the restaurant for that, it was just luck of the draw. for food I ordered the 801 club, which is oven roasted turkey and ham lettuce tomato and bacon and Duke's mayonnaise on grilled bread. The pickles that came with it or fantastic and taste like they're homemade. I also ordered the barbecue beans as my side, and I couldn't have been happier with that. For drinks we tried the Bedford bird dog, which was absolutely out of this world. During lunch, I enjoyed a basil Hayden's rye.overall, I would highly recommend fifth and federal. The only time I would probably avoid it as if I had my children with me.

Needed dinner on a Friday evening and two other places were too full do tried this. Not one else was eating there so was concerned but hungry with 5 adults. The drinkers tried from the huge drink menu which was very long and they were OK with their selections. We ordered the dinner special of quesadillas and they were tasty with bbq meats, small, and no sides so we ordered hush puppies. Two very large hush puppies per order, would prefer more smaller ones to have them all done all the through but liked them. The food took a long time and we hungry but had a great time during the wait. Seating could have been more comfortable but it's a bar. This place would be a great place to go on a nice day when the outdoor areas are open. Maybe eat first so the food wait isn't problematic.

Welcome to Phase 1! Tables were 6 feet apart, but it was my first time getting back to a live band and drinks. With over 200 different whiskies and bourbons on the menu the $14 flight option is a great way to try various bourbons. Their strength is clearly the open space and bourbons. When it came to cocktails and draft beers less so, with plenty of canned beer options. Me. I like bourbons so loved this place. Our waitress was great - checking in every few minutes. The hostess impressive with balancing a growing line of people excited to see a live band. Dog friendly and why not play a little corn hole too.
