My wife and I moved to the area only a few months ago and when we discovered Josie's we fast became regulars. Due to the pandemic we have only done takeout with them but the food is phenomenal. We've already settled into our "usual" order and don't find cause to explore the menu as much but we can definitely say we LOVE the pastas.
On my 2nd last visit I went to pick up the food (our "usual") and the bill was much higher than normal. I asked the young woman behind the counter about it and she quickly responded that the prices increased and they have ordered new menus but they haven't come in. "Fair enough" I thought, there's a meat shortage on, meat producers have hiked their prices and so all restaurants are increasing their prices because of it. No big deal, I paid the unexpectedly higher price and went home and enjoyed my quality food. I was still bothered by how significantly the price hike was and that worry stuck with me.
My last visit, while we were weary of the price increase we still love their food and want to keep supporting Josie's all the same so we ordered our "usual" again. I went to pick it up and the price decreased by about $4. That seemed REALLY strange and I started wondering about the price hike from last time. I checked with the young woman behind the counter (a different one from the previous time) about the new pricing and she confirmed they had changed the prices and new menus were coming. Now I could be pretty sure that in one week prices didn't suddenly decrease, so something was up. I paid, thanked the young woman, took my food home and ate.
Over dinner I kept pondering our $4 dilemma. I went through the food we ordered in my head, and then it hit me. On the first visit I was charged for a garlic bread like it was a la carte when it actually came with my chicken parm dinner.
When your prices change and new menus are not yet available to the customer the customer cannot be responsible for knowing what things cost. That responsibility is on the restaurant and the young woman behind the counter on our second last visit was responsible for knowing what we ordered and what it costs.
We're pretty frustrated that we were charged an extra $4 and received nothing for it. It's only $4 and it's not breaking the bank for us, but it feels like a deception. If new menus had been available on either of my previous visits I could have figured out the problem myself and resolved it in the restaurant. But because new menus weren't available wait staff needed to step it up because customers are relying on them to know what things cost and also what comes with the meal versus what is ordered a la carte.
Suffice to say we are disappointed that the wait staff made such a careless mistake on that visit and that's the reason we are giving Josie's only 3 stars. 5 stars for food, 1 star for service.
Update: I had tried reaching the owners on this multiple times and through different means and they've been both inaccessible and non-responsive to my efforts. We had decided to take our business elsewhere and I've moved the star rating down to a 1 as a result of the extended difficulties with reaching the owners, the delay in getting new menus, and the lack of caring shown when...

Read moreI have never experienced the type of customer service that I received today. I’ve been to this pizzeria in-person in the past a couple of times and have had no issues with the older guys who cook and cashier.
Today, that changed with a lady name Jade. I had called to get clarification on what kind of pizza it was on the special #3 that I ordered because it didn’t specify what all came on it. The woman Jade answered the phone and I asked a few questions on what comes on it, she then got frustrated with the clarification that I was asking because I have family here who’s allergic to pork.
Then, she went onto and say that she is going to cancel the order because they are “ busy”. I then expressed my frustration and she started deflecting and saying that it’s “ New Years”. I then told her that I will make sure that I will expose this terrible unprofessional service that I received from her on all platforms. So, if you see a flutter of 5 stars reviews after this, just know that it’s fake to try and offset this one star review that I’m writing that I wish I could make a 0...
