Muffin Top Almond Joy Waffle Breakfast Fries Pumpkin Pancakes Amaretto French Toast
Appearance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I previously dined at this locally owned restaurant and vowed to return for more breakfast plates. During this explorarion, Owners Steve and Debbie informed me about a few secret menu items unbeknownst to the public.
Before the mystery is revealed, I like to share my experience with a couple of plates already inscribed on the menu.
The muffin top is freshly baked by Debbie. It is a flattened gigantic corn muffin that will envelope the entire plate. This top is topped with smoked ham and three over easy eggs. Out of all the muffins I’ve tried, this creation topped all of them in terms of originality and taste!
Although the Almond Joy waffles is on their dessert menu, I personally categorize this as a breakfast item. Although we aren’t on the same page with its placement on the menu, we are definitely in agreement with its appearance and taste. I was screaming with joy as I consumed the chocolate covered coconut candies with chocolate ice cream!
These are a few confidential plates are that are definitely top tier!
The amaretto French toast was sprinkled with almonds, which gave it a nice crunch! The golden, buttery toast definitely had a hint of liqueur.
Add some spice into your life with the pumpkin pancakes! Freshly served from the skillet, the butter melted right onto the hot cakes. The pumpkin flavored syrup was the backbone!
I was originally reluctant to try the breakfast fries because I do not eat french fries in the morning hours. But, after a single taste I changed my mind the same way Guy changed his mind about Green Eggs & Ham. These “eggstradonary” frites were piled high and deep with over easy eggs, multiple proteins and hollandaise sauce. The taste was surprisingly “eggcellent” that it made me so “egguberant.”
Between the fantastic plates and the friendly service, I ate very lavishly and did not leave hungry. Be sure to inquire about the confidential plates! Now that I explored several of their breakfast entrees, I can’t wait to scope the lunch options!

Read moreIt's not often you come across a diner that feels like home, but that's exactly what Mr. Geez is. From the friendly staff to the homey atmosphere, you can tell the manager/owner, puts a lot of love into this place and it shows in the food and service. Despite being short-staffed and having one very young inexperienced server, the service was prompt and efficient, if not a bit frenetic (I did say they were short-staffed). The coffee was delicious and on point! The server knew to ask if I wanted cream or milk and the mugs were large enough to not need a refill every two minutes. After having perused the well-curated menu for such a small venue, I went with the self-described famous homemade Maryland style crab-cake benedict - it was that or the pecan pancakes! (And since I had french toast at Terry's Cozy Corner yesterday, I opted for something more savory). The reputation is well-deserved. Unlike most places that like to use more filler than crab, these cakes had a good balance. Though not as meaty as Aldi's, which in this humble reviewer's are the BEST commercial crab cakes out there, they still had a good amount and were not completely disintegrated - you can still see pieces of crab meat in the cake. I did not get the homefries, which comes with the dish, but opted instead for some fresh fruit salad that, like most places, had unripe canetloupe. I don't blame them, though; it's almost impossible to find fresh fruit salad at a diner that has canetloupe with just the right amount of ripeness, especially because it's not in demand as much as potatoes, but I'm on a diet, so I won't be eating heavy starches anytime soon. That being said, for as long as I'm living in Lyndhurst, I will definitely be back (maybe even become a regular) for Sunday brunch. Just be advised, as their whiteboard says, "they are understaffed, so please have patience. And if you run out of patience, feel free to ask for an...
Read moreI just left Mr Geez. I was there because yesterday I ordered a to-go order: 2 eggs over medium, with toast and avocado. I opened it and the eggs were so overdone I couldn't eat them. I normally wouldnt call but I felt like paying over $12 was already overpriced for what I ordered. Then, not being able to eat it warranted a call.
The female owner agreed to remake it. I went in to get it and she said the eggs must've still been cooking on your way home and that's why they were overcooked (I opened it immediately so that did not happen ) anyway, she charged me 4.71 for the ovacado because I ate the ovacado yesterday. I did ask her if she checked the eggs this time. I was just curious.
As I walk out the door, I heard the guy (not the nice older gentleman ) say “why didn't she check the eggs herself?” I walked back in and addressed his comment. I said, “why didn't you say that to me when I was standing here? Instead, you wait till I'm out the door and talk about me.” He said he was talking to me, but he specifically said, what didn't SHE check (3rd person). So when I was telling him to stay out of it, he informed me that he was also an owner. The woman defended him 100 percent. Told me to take my eggs and leave.
Bottom line is it doesn't matter that you made a mistake with my food. Everyone makes mistakes. What does matter is that you can't take responsibility when you do PLEASE DO BETTER. YOU HAVE A...
