Abeba is a new, family-run Ethiopian restaurant in North Lynnwood. It’s a very casual spot with no big sign outside, so it’s easy to miss.

Our first table wasn’t clean (still had some food on the tablecloth), so we moved to another one that ended up being a bit small for our dishes. The menu is short, with just a few meat and veggie options, and it doesn’t list combo platters — though the staff told us the veggie platter serves about 3 adults and the meat combo is for 3–4 people, which seems a bit much for the small space.

We ordered the Veggie Platter and Yeshekila Tibes. The veggie platter was really good — flavorful lentils, spinach, salad, and beets with soft injera. The injera could use a little more tang, but overall it was tasty.

The Yeshekila Tibes, though, was disappointing. It came in a clay pot with a flame underneath, which overcooked the meat until it was tough and dry. Not at all like what the menu described. We ended up putting out the fire to try to eat some of it.

We also tried ordering a few drinks, but several items weren’t available. The tea we got was just plain English tea, not the spiced Ethiopian version we expected.

On the positive side, the staff were kind and clearly trying hard. The location is convenient with lots of parking, and you can tell this is a family effort. They just need a little more experience with menu consistency, portion sizing, and presentation.

There’s potential here — with some improvements, Abeba could become a great addition to the...

My wife and I had our first Ethiopian food from abeba restaurant and it was phenomenal! We got Abeba special for Togo and Oh My Goodness!! Even though they said it’s for 2, it’s enough to feed 3-4! Very generous portions! Food was very fresh and packed with great flavor. The injera bread was tangy and fluffy! It went really well with the entrees sides. The owner was very kind and friendly. Don’t forget the great service that they offer! My wife and I will be back to taste more of their...

Delicious flavors, super friendly owner, and the kind of restaurant that stands out because of the quality of the food. If anybody hasn't tried Ethiopian food, and lives close (or far!) please check this place out. So many cookie cutter boring chain restaurants in Lynnwood, so it's lovely to have...

The service was kind and welcoming, it felt like being hosted in someone’s home rather than just eating at a restaurant. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything tasted freshly prepared.
