For the price, this motor inn is of good value. It is clean and location is convenient. The attempts to save money, while understandable, is unconscionable. There is no place to hang your towel when taking a shower – there could easily be a hook or two on the bathroom door which can be reached from the shower. There was one soap to use between handwashing at the sink and taking a shower. The breakfast is less than basic. There was only brown bread for toast, plus English muffin, only berry jelly – no jam, no marmalade. No juice of any kind. Just yogurt and some kind of egg muffin that you microwave. It did not look appetizing to try. And one plastic container of plain cereal.||However, the main reason for the low rating is their method of doing business. I booked two nights through Expedia.ca which stated “Pay at Hotel” with credit card info as guarantee in case you don’t cancel in time. When checking in, we saw the statement showing one day charged. I questioned why they already charged my credit card before we arrived and particularly since I planned to pay US cash due to the horrific CAD$ exchange rate. The receptionist said there was no charge yet and kept repeating that we were not to worry. She said the statement meant the charge was on hold, which we thought was okay and would be reversed when we pay when we check out. On the morning of checkout, a different receptionist who I believed was the owner, said it’s all done, all charged to the credit card. No one should charge our credit card without telling us. This owner said it’s all stated in Expedia (and I checked again later, it said pay at hotel. It did not say hotel will charge credit card on arrival.) We were upset not only because it cost us 42% more for the stay (Exchange Rate + Foreign Transaction Credit Card Fee) but that the Inn charged us without letting us know on arrival. If we were told that the first charge was indeed a charge, we could at least have paid the second night with cash. The owner first argued that the charge was clearly stated on Expedia, then tried to appease us by saying the first receptionist was a trainee. She later ran out to our vehicle to offer to refund us (and then take the cash), but she clearly had no international travel experience as a refund of foreign currency means I lose again as credit cards use a lower exchange rate for refunds. It is never a refund of the original amount. Hence, we said no thank you.||For non-US travellers, it is fine to stay here for a night or two. Just be prepared in case...
Read morethe front desk young man lacked customer service skills. the downstairs room initially assigned to me was run down with an AC that was as loud as a helicopter and emitted a toxic odor. I was exhausted from working all day and the 2.5 hour drive so decided to just turn off the AC and open the window, which meant enduring the traffic noise. finally fell asleep at 11 pm only to be awoken by the guests in the room above mine. apparently they had a toddler that ran back and forth across the floor. this additional noise was a bit too much. i went to the lobby and asked to be put in a quieter room. the front desk young man was in the middle of writing an email response to another customer.. he made me wait till he was done before addressing my issue. at his convenience, he took away my key before giving me another room's key. i thought he was going to accompany me to help move to the new room upstairs. he didn't. instead, he told me that if anything was broken in the room, my credit card would be charged. i reminded him that i still needed the original key because my belongings were still in the original room. after moving myself to the new room, i was disappointed to find that it also proved unacceptable because the neighbors were playing their TV so loudly. it was as if we were sharing a room. this new room had a phone, so i called the front desk to explain that i needed a quiet room to sleep as i had to wake up at 5 am. he didn't offer to come give me another room key. again, i went down to the lobby to get a third room key. again, he didn't offer to help. the third room was adequate. i opened the window for fresh air because the AC in the room was also exceptionally loud and rattling. horrible room experience aside, i was glad to discover that the breakfast included shelled cage-free hard boiled eggs. nonetheless, i won't be staying here in the future and cancelled my reservation...
Read moreI am giving a huge huge compliment to Aaron. He was so helpful. I have a nerve pain disorder and was having trouble getting my stuff put together. He offered to come up and he helped me finish and get everything into my car all the while saying it was going to be alright... Then to take a deep breath with him. It was really helpful and it was very nice and we will definitely be back.... I'm sorry this is put together horribly! I was using the microphone option on my phone to dictate my message. That never really works well!! Bottom line, I got stuck in Lynnwood for a few days, for business. It was planned for only overnight. It ended up taking 3 days. I ran out of several medications during that time, 2 of them were for pain. I was in so much pain the day I left. It was taking a lot of time to get packed up. I couldn't stand up all the way due to pain! I called the front desk to let them know why it was taking extra time for me to check all the way out of the hotel (Best Lynnwood Inn). Aaron told me it would be just fine. He asked me to take a couple slow breaths with him. Then he asked if he could help me get my stuff together and out to the car to get packed up. I excitedly said, "Yes Please!!" I asked him if he had a roller cart that we could use to load my stuff up onto. He said they did. Right away there was a knock on my door. It was Aaron and he was holding on to a box cart! He carried my things down 2 flights of stairs each trip. He took several loads then helped me get them into my car. His help at that moment was such a big big help to me!!!! He was very calm and just kept telling me that everything was ok and going to be fine.... It was more than helpful to me at that moment of rushed frustration and...
