We love this place for authentic Korean food. The food is always fresh and tasty, and they have a wide variety of dishes to choose from, from Soy Sauce Crabs to soy bean paste stew that is rich and flavorful. The rice tea is a nice touch and the seafood pancake is the best in the area, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The stir fried octopus is tender and not too spicy, much better than the squid. The side dishes are complimentary and they are rotated frequently, so we get to try different things every time.
The restaurant is open every day, even on holidays, and has plenty of parking spaces in the nearby lot. It is not too crowded and we never have to wait for a table, even on weekends. The atmosphere is cozy and the owner is very friendly and always greets us with a smile. He gives us good suggestions on what to order.
We gave it four stars because the bossam and jokbal, which are boiled pork belly and pig's feet, have very limited vegetables and pickled radish to go with them. We were charged extra for refilling the radish. The price is not cheap, similar to other Korean places that we have tried, but some dishes are big enough to share between two or three people, like the pancake, jokbal, bossam, soy sauce crabs, etc. Some dishes are not, like the soups and the rice dishes, so we have to order more.
We recommend this place if you want to try real Korean food without waiting in line or worrying if the food would be worth it. We always enjoy coming here and we are satisfied with the quality and quantity...
Read moreHORRIBLE customer service. The owner should replace this kitchen manager or whatever her position is. I ordered a lunch special ah goo jjim (steamed monkfish) and there was hardly a fish in it. Just pile of bean sprouts and literally 3 pieces of fish flesh that are about a size of a thumbnail. But this is not the part I got mad.
I kindly ask the server thinking that this might be a mistake or something. The server was tentative and asked this "manager" and I just happened to hear what she said on my back (I was sitting right next to the kitchen entrance). She said "don't eat it then" bluntly on my back. I ordered a fish meal not a bunch of veggie mixed with sauces for $18.99. I was really shocked that she even said that to me. Then she came to me and looked at me saying "what's the problem?" She said the fish is naturally this small and it's suppose to be like this and went away...I know what a monkfish like and how big the fish is. I don't know where they get the fish but she must have thought I never had this dish before... I was very shocked on this person's manner. Very stuck up manner. I don't know if she's always like that to other customers or Koreans but I was never treated like this in a restaurant telling me to not eat it. So I can't even ask or comment about the food I ordered?? Very disappointed...will never visit here and...
Read moreI’ve tried coming here many times without my Korean friends and they are so rude it is unbelievable. There is a distinct difference in my experience coming here with Korean friends Vs not, you cannot shrug off the unwelcoming atmosphere, you almost want to apologize to them for even being there. I even once had an experience months ago where they refused to let me dine in alone with zero explanation- woman just shaking her hand no, no. I was super confused, meanwhile they’re seating a Korean family. I know it’s not typical in Korea to dine alone so maybe they don’t want to serve banchan to only one person? I don’t know. I also tried coming in and buying a side of rice once, the woman said no we don’t sell rice??? I just laughed because it was so strange, meanwhile she is just giving me a disgusted look and continuing to say no. When I brought white friends with me (that have all lived Korea, including me LOL) to dine in, they don’t serve tea and assume you want forks. The service is just super unfriendly. It’s also outrageous pricing and they keep raising it. Obviously I know this isn’t Korea but I shared photos of the pricing to friends back in Korea and they are just shocked the pricing for such simple,...
