Good food. Although the cut of meat was mediocre, the seasoning and sauce were fantastic. The house-made hot sauce is REALLY good, but beware: it is not mild. Not the hottest ever, but it did make me sweat a bit and had good flavor as well. Amazingly friendly service. Will possibly return.
Edit: had to lower my review by one star and change "definitely" will return to "probably" (probably not, though. I'm not a second chance kind of guy). I called in an order for to go, as I have before. A male that I have never spoken to before answered. The restaurant sounded very busy. Everything I tried to order was apparently "off the menu today". It was clear by the interaction, and by his tone, that he just didn't want to serve me. This is a shame. Every other time I called or came in I was treated very well by the ladies that work there. This gentleman was clearly frazzled and simply didn't want to help me. I work nearby and am constantly recommending this place to my customers. I now regret every person I have sent over there.
Too bad, the food is good. Bad service ruins a place for me, though.
Additional: I went back and the service was warm and friendly. I am moving...
Read moreI was doubtful I could find a place in Washington that could make me feel like I was eating in Lima... until I tried the food at Rinconcito Peruano. We ordered tallarines verdes, leche de tigre, jalea mixta, and the Peruvian breakfast, and everything was very delicious. I was surprised by the leche de tigre since the limes I have found in Washington don't taste like those in Peru, but the chef has found the perfect balance in flavor. The Peruvian breakfast tamale reminded me of those eaten in Chincha, and the chicharron was tasty. The jalea was good, too, and is a dish to share because it is a substantial portion. The green noodles were tasty, too. The price is reasonable, considering the flavor and...
Read moreI’m a seafood fiend, and the seafood at this place is top notch! I got the triple Marino and loved every bit of it. The fried seafood was perfect: nicely coated and well cooked, still light and very crispy. Seafood rice was flavorful, fluffy, and hearty. And the ceviche! Wow, I’ve never had such delicious ceviche. The leche de tigre was a knockout, the fish was fresh, everything about this was fantastic. I also tried the papa rellena appetizer, which was also very delicious: the filling was savory and flavorful, with the fried mashed potato holding it all together very nicely. The sauces were also amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back here, and...
