I know this place for their teriyaki burritos and it was a popular location a years back in high school. This review focuses on the burrito highlight not the entire menu. Haven't visited in a while but came back recently for the spicy chicken teriyaki burrito. When perfect, these are heaven. When the care and love isn't there, it's obvious and reminds me of any other burrito. Comes with fried rice, chicken teriyaki, and lettuce.
First thoughts back - the value has gone down, the burritos are fairly small and look like half of a burrito for around $6.50 now? Chipotle burritos might be calling if i'm thinking about comparing value.
We got 3 spicy burritos, one per person. One of them was perfect, the sauce was present and evenly spread. The other two, however, lacked sauce. They had little highlights with dabbles of sauce, but other than that tasted and looked like fried rice wrapped in a tortilla. Consistency was questionable and disappointing. Being given a side of sauce to personally dip or use would be nice in scenarios like this.
It is a nostalgic location and potentially a one time problem, but having not been in a while, was not the best experience. That being said, I think trying a teriyaki burrito is an experience everyone deserves as it is a beautiful blend when done right. I have no other locations to compare the combination to...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years, always supporting this spot and even defending it when friends mentioned the negative reviews. But after today, I can’t anymore. I called in an order for two burritos, came in 10 minutes later, paid $17 like always, and waited. My order was sitting there ready, but the owner insisted it wasn’t mine. After another 10 minutes and watching other people get served, I asked again, this time he claimed I never paid. I showed him the pending charge on my bank account, but he still refused to give me my food. I left without my meal, still charged, and honestly stunned that the owner couldn’t remember a regular who paid him just 10 minutes earlier. I wish I’d asked for a receipt, but I’ve never needed to here… until now. Terrible way to treat loyal customer. I wish I could show a photo of my taste burrito but...
Read moreLiterally paid 45$ for a beef yakisoba, chicken teriyaki/egg roll combo and an order of gyoza. Chicken teriyaki was plain grilled chicken thighs and dry white rice. I specifically HAD to order teriyaki sauce on the side. I get the salad isn't 'really' much, but lettuce and already over poured dressing was alot. Please, please, go to Safeway and get a bag of green salad w/ carrots and cabbage in it for 2$. I don't have high expectations of teriyaki really, it's hard to mess up. But, I'm not going back again. Gave them 2 stars because the chicken was grilled well. Js, there's alot of other options. And the middle aged guy behind the counter was a bit much. Asked for the chili oil, saw the chili oil... and he gave...
