stopped by around 10:20 on a Tuesday to try the tteokbokki, I wanted a little late night food that didn't break the bank (see: sub $10) for context, I eat halal i saw the rose tteokbokki had bacon in it, figured if I couldn't have it sans bacon I'd try the original tteokbokki which is spicier (a win imo). but to my dismay the original has beef stock ! bummerrrr probably must taste banging tho, knowing that. I hemmed and hawed on what to order, but the guy was sooo nice (I wish I'd caught his name!), he helped me choose something else. so close to closing, a lot of items were low- I also learned the mandu had beef and they were out of kimchi. but! we finally settled on the shrimp and tuna kbowl. he said he'd sub the mandu for more spring rolls and the kimchi for pickled radishes. I was getting ready for disappointment, tbh. I saw pics of the eggs and they weren't even soft boiled :(

boy was I wrong! there were NO MISSES in this bowl. the tempura is fried to perfection, the tuna mayo'd up and seasoned to perfection, the EGG! ugh it was marinated in some soy mix sauce, it was better than I could have ever imagined. the pickled yellow radish? FIRE 🔥 I like those better than kimchi anyway so that was a win. was I hungry? yes. was this perfectly warm and everything just perfectly hit? also yes. okay the one negative thing I'll say - the spring rolls are really just battered, deep fried perilla leaves with sweet potato noodles inside from my understanding, fyi. don't think they have any more veggies than that really, would not recommend getting them as a side unless they hit the spot for you.

the interior was fab, the reviewer that said there was a frog was absolutely correct there was an AMAZING frog :) and the vibe was moody and very chic. anyways I loved it and although it wasn't super friendly to my diet I might come again to try the kimbap :)

thank you for the amazing...

I came across this restaurant on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. The colorful dishes caught my eye. They serve street style Korean food so the menu is simple and the portions are perfect for sharing.

I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews, but it ended up being a little disappointing. I tried the rose tteokbokki and the short rib kimbap combo. The tteokbokki sauce was the highlight of the dish but the rice cake itself was too chewy in my opinion. The short rib kimbap was personally hard to eat because it was so big and it would fall apart if I try to bite it. The seaweed wasn't crispy and didn't tear apart easily. Maybe we came at an odd time at 3pm so it wasn't the most fresh. I would've liked it if the size were smaller but kept the same proportions. I'll come back to try the sandwiches but it didn't appeal to me too much.

The owners were nice and the service was quick. I like the idea they were going for but it was lacking in taste. The rating is based on the food only. You get a better value getting the kimbap at Hmart instead and I'd say it tastes just as good. I do like to go out of my way to support local new restaurants. I think if they add some minor tweaks to their menu, they have a lot of...

we love the food and have been supporting bapmukja since opening! but we've had multiple issues with timing/service. the hours on google and the posted hours on the door are not the same (actually very different?) and 4 separate times we've come by to pick up some dinner (around 7:30pm, like we always do, which is 30 minutes before the closing time posted on google and 4 HOURS before than the closing time posted on their door) and they have doors locked and seem closed (with employees cleaning up inside) with no signage, update posts, or explanation. completely understandable if you need to close early, but we live 30 min away and it feels very disappointing to look forward to going to our favorite dinner spot during technically open hours and never knowing if they are actually going to be open. i always look forward to coming here, but starting to avoid it because i never know if its going to be worth the drive just for it to be closed when i get there :( please update your hours...

Wow!! Came here with friends to try a variety (some pictured below, but not all because we ate so fast haha) - Short rib kimbap was well seasoned - Street toast was fresh, savory with a little sweetness. Just the right amount of crispy and still soft on the inside. - Rosé tteokboki was creamy, savory and perfect for cold weather... could see it being a go-to for a hearty and satisfying lunch/dinner. The sauce consistency was divine without being too heavy. - Aglio Olio tteokboki was my personal favourite because I love garlic, and this dish delivered (without the spicy chillies too). It smelled amazing even before eating. Every bite was so perfectly crisp and chewy that I wanted to keep eating it, even after I was full. The bacon bits were generously sprinkled throughout. Really impressive quality and portions for the amount we paid. Fantastic service and cleanliness too. I hope Bapmukja keeps growing until they have a downtown Seattle branch because I will definitely be back!!
