I recently visited Corner Bakery located at 39 N La Grange Rd, La Grange, IL 60525. As a Local Guide at Level 6, I was eager to explore this establishment and share my experience. I stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and decided to dine in.
Upon entering, I found that parking was easy to locate, thanks to their ample parking lot. This was a convenient start to my experience.
The overall atmosphere of Corner Bakery was rather average. It didn't particularly stand out, but it was comfortable enough for a casual lunch. I'd rate it as a 3 out of 5.
In terms of the food, I ordered the pani sandwich and the chicken BLT sandwich. While neither dish blew me away, they were both good. The flavors were satisfactory, and I appreciated the variety offered. I'd recommend the chicken BLT sandwich to others who are visiting.
The service matched the overall tone of the visit—okay but not exceptional. There were no major issues, but it didn't leave a lasting impression either. I'd also give it a 3 out of 5.
Regarding the cost, I spent around $10 to $20 per person. The pricing seemed reasonable considering the type of establishment and the quality of the food.
In conclusion, my experience at Corner Bakery was okay. The food and service were decent, and the atmosphere was average. The parking situation was convenient, and I enjoyed the chicken BLT sandwich in particular. While it might not be my top choice for dining, it's a suitable option for a...
Read moreThe reason I’m rating this place a three star is because of my overall experience. One would be the utensils. I look for clean utensils when I go to try new places; the metal knife I received was dirty, with remains of food and finger smudges. The second thing is the espresso coffee I got felt like an empty cup. I ask for a medium size an I got maybe a teaspoon of espresso. I also ordered their Rustic Italian Penni, it’s appearance didn’t look like what was shown on the menu. When I was served my food I noticed it just had a little less of everything but the taste was there so I enjoyed it. I also ordered both the breaded and non breaded Mac and cheese. The non breaded one was not very appealing and had a thick consistency of cheese; some water could have lowered that consistency. But I do feel that I could’ve made this at home way better. It overall tasted plain, when I added some of their amenities of salt and pepper it gave some real taste to the dish. For the breaded bowl of Mac and cheese it needed a little more bread crumbs and a bigger portion. Both of bowls were caffe size as well and I felt as if they were low on the...
Read moreThe quality of the food was decent, not horrible. The eggs were fake, the sausage was mass produced. The bakery goods were so so. The only thing I really liked was the oat meal but its hard to mess up oatmeal. Their frappe was good.
The shop looked okay, its like Panera Bread. Although, I thought at first it was a nice sit down serving type place at first.
The service was extremely poor. This older woman was at the register and god bless her she was nice but she got our order wrong 5 times. She kept asking me the same question and getting it wrong. I order oatmeal with just brown sugar, she gave me walnuts and no brown sugar. I gave the walnuts to my friend. She also charged us 3 times for 3 frappes when we ordered 2. It's not her fault, I think she was just a bit old and not computer savvy and possibly poor memory.
None of the tables were cleaned. There were almost no where to sit because none of the tables were cleaned. The place is also crazy expensive and they give you tiny portions.
La Grange is a great area with plenty of small cafes and breakfast nooks. I'd skip this place and...
