I don't ever take the time out to write a review. U must do exceptionally good or horrible for me to offer opinion as many do not bother listening anyway :) but here it is. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The place expects u to know how they operate ( sit urself and wait for the waitress to notice u) once we did sit down, since it is not organized by a hostess, the waitress came to us 3 couples later who came after us. Not her fault and she was the only pleasant person to deal with. The manager was outstandingly horrible. He overheard me ASKING the waitress if she can not hold entire order and bring it out as its made cuz we were starving and kind of in a rush and proceeded to make a statement: u aren't the only ones here and it will take her more time to bring it out as its ready rather than all at once, so u just gone have to wait! That was not called for. When two of four times came in messed up, since on a time crunch and not to make them work more, I politely said don't worry about making new one and just take it back. We got the receipt for all items, when asked why are we paying for stuff we didn't take cuz it was messed up, the same manager said: it doesn't matter how it's made, it was made and food was ordered, I don't care if u are it or not, u have to pay for it... I would not brag about the food either. It's an OK place for a small joint, but I would rather go to McDonald's across...

Overall Thoughts: A simple but lengthy trek from Chicago (orange line to Midway then bus), my friends and I initially didn’t intend to dine here but stumbled in after the spot we originally had in mind was closed. We were glad we came though— the vibes were chill, and the staff were so kind and friendly. The food is pretty standard diner / fast food grub, and tasted good. The prices are affordable too, and the portions are large. If I lived in the area, I would probably stop by more often with friends as a chill hangout spot to grab a quick bite or milkshake.

Food I tried: Chili (4.5/5): The chili is really delicious! It had tons of flavor and nice textures.

Polish Sausage Dream Meal (4.2/5): The polish sausage as quite good— I prefer its coarser texture and smokier flavor over a traditional hotdog. I liked the combination of the soft, fresh bun also with the crunchy veggies inside. The fries were crispy and well-fried.

Chocolate Triple Rich Milkshake (4.2/5): Their shakes/sundaes/ice cream menu is expansive, and everything looked delicious. This milkshake was rich, sweet, and chocolatey, and I liked how they provided an extra bowl with the leftovers too— we love no food waste! —

Price (relative to peers): 4.3/5 Food: 4.3/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Service: 5/5 Overall...

Ordered cheese fries, got jalapeño cheese fries. I asked the waitress about it. She was aware and said they didn’t have regular cheese so they used the jalapeño cheese. They didn’t even ask me. They also didn’t take it off my bill. The onion rings were so over cooked that the onions were gone. I asked the drive through girl 5 times for salt during my order. She kept mentioning ketchup. I said no ketchup! When I got home to eat, there was no salt and 10 packets of ketchup! I called the manager and she told me she wouldn’t replace my fries . I can’t eat the bland ass fries without salt. Since this place sold it to new owners the food and service suck so bad. I tip 25% , my son has tipped 5 dollars for a shake. My family, friends, and I and I have been going to this Lindys for 25 years. They have lost all of our business....

This was my first visit to Lindy's in Bridgeview. About 20 years ago, I used to go to the Lindy's Chili on Archer Avenue at Western. This is one of those places you MUST put on your bucket list. The chili is terrific! Have it with or without beans, cheese, onions, hot peppers, hot sauce or Oyster crackers. This is a hearty chili, unlike the thinner variety I have had at Bishop's Chili. We each had a bowl, but also brought home a 5 lb tub of chili to share with friends. We went there around 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon, and the place was empty. This place certainly brought back memories when I visited it with fellow workers on the south side. I also had a chocolate malt. It was a little pricey, but worth it! Location is convenient. Harlem and 87th Street in Bridgeview.

I ordered a breaded fish sandwich and it was crispy with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. I also had an order of chili cheese fries with jalapenos. The fries were home style fries looked like freshly cut with their homemade chili and cheddar cheese with nacho cheese. It was excellent. I have been here many times but haven't left a review. It was due.
