Alwatan Bakery — Restaurant in Palos Township

After a five year hiatus, these clowns are still thirsty and money hungry. The cross-eyed young man was watching me the entire time while I was attempting to pick up some day old bread from the rack. I also felt uneasy and discriminated against because I spoke in English (the lango of the land) whilst others spoke in Arabic.

This is more of a GIVE US YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE kinda of a business. I am not sure what the rest of the reviews are talking about when they say excellent customer service because I just came and went and wasn't greeted or thanked for spending my money. The spinach pies are not all that and their falafels are nasty. And they should buy some Rosetta Stone CD's because they struggle with the English language. They also have a handful of undocumented workers cooking...

I'm SHOCKED AND DISAPPOINTED!!!! Heard about this place and thought it was good. When I first stepped in the presentation didn't look promising, I should have gone with my instincts, but I thought of giving them a chance. Let's start with all the wrong things that happened, the wheat pita bread was finished and it was only 2pm. Then we asked for pasteries and they looked a day old and tasted more than 2 days old. To top it off they were freakin' expensive!!!!!!!!!!!! As you can see from the pictures, the packaging is horrendous everything on top of everything else and THE GUY WASN'T WEARING GLOVES!!!!!!!!!!!!! NASTY!!!!!!! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL, there are far better places to go to but this one is the worst!!!! The star is so I can write a review, otherwise I wouldn't...

My Reviews/Ratings are fair and non-bias.

STAFF- Fair & Friendly, they take care of the regulars. I don't live around this area, but I make a great along with my family for these pies.

PRICES- Compared to all the bakery's around this community, they seem to have fair prices, for it's quantity & quality. This bakery has been around for a while, they built a great relationship with their community & the prices haven't scared anyone away. This is a successful establishment.

FOOD- Because of the long distant commute I make, I always get 4-5 pies of each; meat, cheese, spinach, chicken, zatar, etc... You have to get there early to catch the fresh batch! Overall, they do not disappoint and continue to maintain their quality in baking these...
