Sonny's BBQ — Restaurant in Macon

We went in to try the prime rib special and the new sides. The waitress didn't like the prime rib as she doesn't eat beef. So I ordered something that I knew to be good before and my friend ordered the prime rib both of us had cold food and the waitress was agitated that we said something about it even after she asked. I ate my salad and my baked potato. She asked if I wanted to speak to the manager And I said no. She asked if I was going to call back and complain later...... and she said like you have in the past. I said no I don't want to talk to management. But the reason I called in the past is because I picked up togo orders and they are always wrong or missing something so it's logical I would call when Before I got home and noticed my okra order was missing or my buns. There's so much about this place that's right. But cold, dried out meat, and missing items isn't okay. I'm not sure why the waitress felt the need to lecture me but I told her we would not be eating there again. And we will not thanks the hostile treatment. Warner Robins is close enough to go and be treated nice and have hot food. If you do eat here sit at the bar. They are nice. But for me 3 strikes and...

I'll take a regular bar over the old salad bar any day! We came here Sunday around 11:30am and it was dead. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a few beers and our food. My husband's meal came with a beer! I got the dry rub ribs which were delicious, with mac & cheese. Perfectly cooked, not mushy. The redneck egg rolls were also good. My husband had the hamburger which he said was good. Great looking new restaurant with a new vibe. We'll be back.

Came back again today. Had the Pick 2 smoked dry rub wings and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Both delicious. Changed out the BBQ beans for green beans which were good. Cole slaw is crunchy with not too much mayo. Got cornbread instead of garlic bread and man that muffin is fire! So moist and you can see the nuggets of corn baked in them. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich which he liked. Then he ordered the giant chocolate chip cookies and these things are huge and thick and hot and delicious. I see a lot more on the menu we want to try so wait til next weekend for my next review LOL

And they just added BBQ Bowls where you can add your own choices like mac & cheese, dirty rice, pulled pork, chicken,...

I visited the Sonny's on Zebulon Rd in Macon. Ga this evening. I always enjoy the food but the customer service could have used some adjusting tonight. I ordered a side of fries with my order and upon checking my food, I noticed my fries was not fresh. I pulled back around and the lady at the pick up window completely ignored me and did not acknowledge that I had pulled back around to the window. As I noticed this behavior, I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager and explained that I was just sitting without being accommodated. He quickly came to the drive thru window to assist me with my order. Although, he offered to prepare fresh fries, I insisted on just getting an alternative side. I just wanted to commend the GM, Duane Hartenhoff on his great hospitality. He was very professional about making sure my experience was his top priority. Greatly appreciated.
