I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taco Mac for the first time, and I have to say, it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that Taco Mac was a lively, welcoming spot—perfect for enjoying a meal or game day with friends or family. A little loud, but that is to be expected of a sports bar.
My server, Madison, immediately made me feel at home. She was warm, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. When I asked her for recommendations, she suggested the Philly Eggrolls. I trusted her judgment—and I’m so glad I did! They were absolutely delicious. The crispy, golden eggroll wrappers were perfectly fried, and the filling was packed with savory, flavorful ingredients, including tender pieces of steak, gooey melted cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions. The dipping sauce that came alongside them added an extra layer of flavor, making them a perfect start to my meal. I would definitely order these again in a heartbeat.
The food didn’t stop impressing there. To my surprise, I was treated to a complimentary dessert by the manager, Jacob. He personally brought over an order of “cronuts”—this delicious hybrid of a croissant and donut. They were crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, and the perfect amount of sweetness. It was a thoughtful touch that truly made the experience feel special, and I can’t recall the last time I was so impressed by a restaurant’s attention to detail and customer care.
Speaking of customer care, I have to highlight how incredible Madison was as my server. She wasn’t just friendly; she was genuinely invested in ensuring that I had a great experience. She was happy to answer any questions I had about the menu, made excellent suggestions, and was attentive without being overbearing. It’s clear she has a true passion for delivering a top-notch dining experience.
Jacob, the manager, also made a significant impact on my visit. Not only was he kind enough to bring over the free cronuts, but he also checked in with me during the meal to make sure everything was going well. His positive energy and attentiveness made a real difference in the overall vibe of the restaurant. It's rare to see a manager so engaged with guests, and it really added to the experience.
All in all, my visit to Taco Mac was a fantastic one. From the delicious food to the wonderful service, I can’t recommend it enough… I’ll definitely be returning for another round of eggrolls and to see what other menu items I can try. If you’re in the area, make sure to check it out—you won’t be...

After church, our party of five decided to visit Taco Mac since our first choice had over an hour wait, and Taco Mac didn’t have a wait list. Although we’d passed by the restaurant before, this was our first time visiting.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was off. The hostess seemed visibly unhappy—whether it was her job or our presence, I’m not sure. Trying to lighten the mood, I complimented her hairstyle, thinking maybe she was just having a long day. Unfortunately, her demeanor remained noticeably negative and unwelcoming.
Once seated, we encountered a similar attitude from our waitress. She didn’t seem particularly interested in serving us, and I couldn’t figure out why. Other tables appeared to be having a good time, but our experience felt uncomfortably different.
The tipping point came when my daughter requested to exchange her dry chicken sandwich for a 10-piece wing. Instead of just making the change, the waitress brought over the manager. He asked my daughter if adding a sauce would make the sandwich better—almost as if he was trying to avoid replacing it altogether. He even mentioned not wanting to “throw the entire sandwich away.” At that point, I intervened and told him to either replace the sandwich or not, but to make a clear decision. After more back-and-forth, I asked for the check.
The waitress eventually returned to confirm the updated order, but by then, the damage was done. I stepped away to write this review while my husband paid the bill. On our way out, I noticed the hostess wishing other guests a nice day—but not us.
As for the food, the shrimp tacos, burger, and chicken sandwich were just okay—not memorable enough to rave about. Unfortunately, the poor service and unwelcoming atmosphere left a much stronger impression. Overall, I would not recommend this location—0 out of 10...
Read moreThis was by far the worst tasting food we have had since we moved to Macon. Maybe it was an off day for the chef or maybe the food we got just wasn’t a good choice but it was so bland and had no flavor. If you choose to go here I hope your experience is better. Here’s the break down,
Our appetizer we started with was chips and queso. The chips were salted nicely, the salsa had a bad taste to it and wasn’t enjoyable, and the queso came with some sprinkle cheese ball in the middle that never melted. The queso was ok but within 30 mins it became hard as a rock so you better eat it quick.
For our entrees we got the grilled shrimp tacos, the steak tacos, and 2 sides of Mac n cheese. The grilled shrimp tacos did not come with a spicy warning, yes it says spicy ranch but the shrimp itself was spicy. The shrimp was over cooked and you can taste previous food that was cooked on the grill with the grill marks on it so that was unpleasant. The steak tacos were completely bland, no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. Both Mac n cheeses were just sitting in a pool of oil, as shown in the picture, and completely bland. It looks like it got microwaved and the only thing you could really taste was the peppers that were in it. Needles to say I took 2 bites and that was it.
This will most likely be the first and last time we go here. I didn’t finish my shrimp and just ate the tortilla with the fillings and the waitress took the Mac n cheeses off. The service was good and the manager was walking around so we told him about the food and really seemed to only care about the Mac n cheese even though we told him the entrees were bad as well.
Also just a side rant, how is your chain restaurant name going to be TacoMac but your main dish is chicken wings and you only have 4 taco dishes and 1 option of Mac n cheese as a side. That is all. Food: 1/5 | Service: 5/5 | ...
