My experience is that this is an extremely poor operation. When my family walked in, all of the unoccupied tables (at least half of them) had used dishes on them. The waitress said we don't have any tables for you. We asked the waitress if it was OK if we sat at the counter instead, which was clean, and she said yes but it would be a few minutes before she could get to us. We said OK. Because I was within ear shot of her and the cook, I could hear her tell him that she didn't feel like serving us because they had been so busy earlier. Then, after waiting for nearly ten minutes and watching her serve other customers, the cook came over and told us that they wouldn't be able to serve us because they were the only employees in the restaurant, but we could order to-go. During this conversation, I could see a third employee begin to work. We expressed our displeasure about the situation. The cook told us the unit number, as if to say-- it's fine if you complain, go ahead, I don't care. It was very impolite at best. Also, both the waitress and the cook smirked, smiled, and laughed as we expressed our displeasure about the situation. In reality, there was not a reason to not serve us there. We were there with two small children (party of 4), and if you're able to prepare our food to go, you can put it on a plate. Because the staff's response did not make logical sense, the only real reasons that we could conclude about not being served was that a) best case scenario, there was extremely poor management of this restaurant during the evening hours of October 30th, 2023 and or b) the team thought it was acceptable to not serve a Black family at this location. The waitress and the cook were white, and all other customers, except for one table, were all white. It was disgusting to treat guests the way we were treated. My kids were disappointed because they love the waffles and hash browns, and after a difficult day it was supposed to be a treat. Our original plan was to place a to-go order, but when they didn't answer the phone, we got the kids out of the car to be served. As a result, we were treated as if we were an inconvenience to the staff. The immaturity of the staff on hand last night was on full display; they were inconsiderate; and the irrationality of their decision making and communication skills should result in a complete overhaul of how you conduct business at the Bowman Road location. They preferred to turn us away rather than clean off a table...
Read moreIm a restaurant manager. I came, i ordered. Was cut off while trying to answer cooks' questions. No biggie. As i was leaving Red, the server was talking with a cook about togo prices. As i started to walk out the door, she made comment how nobody wanted to tip Sh#$T! Directed and said in my direction at a volume to where i would clearly hear it as im one foot in front of the other walking out door to leave. I stopped and told her the reason i did not tip is because she didn't so much as crack a smile, say hello, how are you tonight, nothing. She said not one single kind word to me. And wouldn't even smile. She acted as if though it was a burden on her by my being there. Even to the point of opening the door, i had not said anything about the service. It was only when she made the snide comment about people tipping. Then, when i do respond to her negative comment (which would definitely be against policies and procedures). On average, i usually tip around 30 to 40 percent. And MORE for excellence in service. If i get a cup of coffee, i always tip 5 bucks for a cup of coffee!! Im a big tipper, and the other 3rd shift staff there can easily vouch that. I live 1/4 mile away and stop in oftentimes after work. I will not revisit the store with Red working. The easiest part of the job is smiling and giving a genuine greet. If one can't manage to do that. Chances are they have made a wrong...

"I just had to share my incredible experience at the Waffle House location! I stopped by at 9 PM, and the entire team was still shining bright with smiles and warm hospitality.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly faces and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were patient, attentive, and accommodating, even with a full house of customers.
The service was top-notch, and the food was, of course, delicious! But what truly made my experience stand out was the team's exceptional customer service. They were courteous, efficient, and made sure every guest felt valued.
I was blown away by the team's energy and dedication to providing an outstanding dining experience, even during a late-night rush. You could tell they genuinely loved what they do, and that enthusiasm was infectious!
Huge kudos to the entire Waffle House team for an unforgettable experience! If you're looking for a warm, welcoming spot with fantastic food and exceptional service, look no further.
