Come with me to brunch at Toasted kitchen & cocktails in Macon 🥞🍳 stuffed french toast + eggs for me, omelette + grits for him 🤭 #brunchtime #maconga #brunch #placestoeatinmacon

Finally got a chance to come here. We went several other times but it was always super busy. This time we came at 9:45 on a Tuesday to avoid the early breakfast and late brunchers. I had the crab cake benedict and he had the meat omelet. Both beautifully presented. My hollandaise was delicious with more lemon which is how I like it. The egg was poached perfectly. The English muffin was easy to cut into with a fork, which is rare in my experience. Most Benedicts wind up being butchered because you end up having to use a knife to cut through the bottom layer. However, the crab cake was so soft that it blended with the bottom bread so that you couldn't taste it. I even deconstructed it just to get at the crab cake but it was just a patty falling apart with no crispiness on the outside to hold it together. We both had the cheese grits which were to die for. It was a white cheese, maybe Gouda, because you could definitely taste it. My husband liked his omelet with sourdough toast. We'll definitely be back to try the Deviled eggs and shrimp & grits, among other things on their menu. Tried the Deviled eggs, they were delicious. Had the shrimp and grits which were also good. The biscuit was OK, dry and dense though. My husband had the chicken Caesar wrap, and it had MUSTARD in it. Wtf? He hates mustard so it turned him off the restaurant completely, especially considering the other issues from the last time. Oh well.

The entrance presence is dominated by a large bar area, which sums up the essence of this place. We went for Sunday lunch and I would rate it a solid mediocre. We waited for 30 mins for our food after it was ordered, which is longer than typical for the food type. My water glass was never refilled; although it was a 90 degree day. The food looked good enough, but. The eggs benedict were cooked just like I ordered them, and served lukewarm. The ham (Canadian bacon) was considerably smaller than the English muffin. The grits looked good but not as good as Cracker Barrel. They were served without butter, and they needed it and salt. Grits are something you can and should serve smoking hot....but not here, lukewarm. My daughter got the chicken and waffles, and said neither good nor bad things about them. My wife got a soup of some type with a biscuit. Again, no comment. Many of the servers have metal boogers, and really nice. Overall, I would put the experience as nothing special, even though the prices would seem to indicate otherwise.

Ok my first visit wasn’t that great. Please keep in mind they were slammed. Took a while for me to get a table but that’s ok. Again they were busy. Took my server 20 minutes to come get my drink order and when she did she waited on the two tables next to me first that came in after me. She eventually came back and took my order. The food took at least another 40 minutes to come out. When I got my coffee she only gave me 2 creamers for a large cup of coffee and didn’t bring my water. I tried to catch her before she left and she was gone. Then the two tables got their drink orders and apps and I was able to grab her and get my water and additional creamer after 15 minutes. Again I’m not mad at this point I understand they’re busy. Finally the two tables got their food 3 plates each table and I still don’t have my food. 1 plate. 15 more minutes goes by. I finally get my food and the order was not correct. They gave me my partial order and by this time I’m starving and went ahead started eating. As I’m almost done they bring me the corrected plate. All my items were Luke-warm and not seasoned. The sausage was not fresh. The bacon not cooked the way I ordered it. As my server was cleaning the table next to me I asked for my check. This was the second time I had to ask for my check. Overall service was not great, but I still left an 18% tip. Food was not worth what they charged. To be perfectly honest, Waffle House across the street has better service and food. And they serve it right off the grill. I really wanted a water to go and the server never asked me if she could refill my coffee or water during this entire ordeal. Today the value was just not there. I do...

I never do this… but my husband & I, along with our 8 month child came here after church today to try this place out because we’ve heard great reviews about the restaurant & food, of course they were busy (it is Sunday & I know church gets out all around the same time) & it did take about 20 minutes to get seated which is perfectly fine, what’s not fine is the fact it took 20 minutes for a server to come to our table (which by that time we had already figured out what we wanted to drink & eat) so we gave her the whole order all at once, took another 20 minutes to get our waters, she barely came by to our table to see how we were doing the whole 2 hours (just about) we were there. We ordered the LOX which is smoked salmon, cream cheese & caper on some toast as an APPETIZER & also the steak Benedict & shrimp & grits. We waited for OVER an hour to get our food before my husband finally told the hostess to just box it up, by this time I had to leave because my child was getting a little fussy from just sitting there (also had ordered the side of cheese grits for him while we ate) & my husband got the food to go but also asked for the manager that said we had to pay for our drinks which in return my husband said no & we would never be back because of the fact that a 6 top table that got sat AFTER us ALREADY had their food BEFORE US (A 2 TOP TABLE). Anyways, like I said I never do any kind of review & I am a very patient person when it comes to the restaurant industry because I have worked in it myself & I understand… but this, this was mind blowing & it was not a great first/last experience....

Let me first say - I have not been afforded the blessing to even eat at this restaurant. My family and I have attempted to eat at this restaurant 3 times. The first time, we had limited time and could not wait 30-35 minutes and chose to leave, the next time the wait time was quoted over 45 minutes to an hour and the hostess said to “call next time when on the way”. I did exactly that today and asked for a wait time estimate over the phone. Again - told it was 30-35 minutes and I asked if by calling ahead, could my name be placed on the list. DO NOT bother trying to call ahead - they don’t take reservations - they believe that the equalizer is first come, first served once on site. We live in Houston county, we are only in Macon on Sundays for church - my husband is in the food business and hospitality and I am in healthcare. I say all that to say that whomever answered my call - had the nerve to hang up on me! How rude (who also by the way was this was our third time trying to dine at Toasted)! Toasted will have to figure a lot out on the customer service side for me to ever eat there - I don’t care how good your food is, until you know how to show kindness and respect through phone or whatever media in which you communicate. You win if you are trying to cater to a certain clientele of your culture at Toasted - this is an encouragement to evaluate your objectives and longevity of your footprint in Macon. I am a foodie and drive anywhere that CUSTOMER SERVICE and FOOD are exceptional and avoid places that...
