Mellow Mushroom Macon — Restaurant in Macon

Couldn't fill out the restaurant survey bc the waiter trashed the detailed receipt with the code when he went to close the ticket, so doing a Google review. Pretzel bites were good but the beer cheese sauce was not, tasted like cheez wiz with beer in it... Some marinara sauce would have been much better. The pizza and calzone were both really good. Only problem was the new waitress he was training who had her thumb on the pizza and then slid half of it off on the table top when she tried to sit it down... They were out of carbonation for the soda fountain so the were only serving coke and Sprite from 2 liter bottles. They also had tea and lemonade. Tried the tea and it tasted like canned syrup tea and super sweet. Atmosphere was ok, it wasn't busy at all which is why I was surprised when they sat us at the table right in the front door. Didn't care much for the waitresses huge nose ring and hot pink chopped up hair. Just seemed unprofessional and kind of unsanitary. Even though it's not on the menu anymore, they did make me a philosopher's pie and it didn't disappoint, worth the visit just for that pizza! I'll never understand why it's off the menu. Went in tonight at 6pm it was not very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. We placed our order which was hummus as a app. 3 small pizzas and I ordered a side salad. We got the Hummus and about 20 minutes later we got our pizzas, I asked the waitress about my salad and she said oh I forgot but we are out of caesar salad bowls. I did not understand this since I ordered a side salad but since we already had our pizzas I told her never mind about the salad. We started eating our pizza and I realized I needed a fork to eat my pizza, so I called the waitress over and asked for silverware and she told me they were all out of silverware and it was being washed, I waited a few minutes and when I didnt get any silverware I just ate without it. This was bad enough but she finally came by and asked if we needed boxes and I said yes and our check, I watched her go to the computer and start talking to another waitress and talked for ten minutes before she walked away and as she passed our table she realized she forgot our boxes and check. Have ate at Mellow Mushroom several times going thru Atlanta and always liked it very much. The Macon restaurant however disappointed in many ways. We are gluten and dairy free, and that can be a challenge. But Mellow Mushroom had always been amd to accommodate our needs. We ordered a ff crusy and vegan cheese as an appetizer. When it came out, they had burnt the crust, but we were hungry so we ate what we could. For dinner we got a gf hamburger and mushroom and another chicken and onion and mushroom. When they came out, birth had chicken. We sent the one that was supposed to be beef back. They took it in back, and rather than remake it correctly, they just added beef, microwaved it and sent it back out. We were hungry, fine, we are it, but once again they burned both gf crusts. I think better coming times are needed for these crusts, because they were just hard and burnt. Shame, we really like their pizzas normally. This was our first disappointing...
