One of my favorite places for lunch depending on the route I get for work. But alas, I actually have to give out a one star review / rating to a place I like. I drive an 8' 10" high refrigerated van for work, so I don't do drive throughs, just because too many are either too short, or too close height wise that I don't chance it. Especially since neither drive through at this Checker's is marked with a height on the "headache" bar that keeps you from hitting the awnings on the buildings.
With the restrictions on eating in being relaxed I was very much hoping to finally get some Checker's after almost a year of not being able to do to the vehicle I drive. I pulled in and parked, then read the signs on the door and lobby windows, which said the normal about wearing a mask, and a limit of 2 guests at a time in the lobby where you can put in a walk up order. I did have my mask on, but unfortunately like others that say you can do take out in addition to the drive through, the door was locked up tight.
I guess this explains a part of why so many fast food restaurants are closed for good now. A fair percentage of essential workers drive vehicles too big to fit the drive through, and would like to be able to do carryout, even if we have to do a mobile order. But the fast food restaurants are saying use our drive through, and by the way, we don't serve walk ups at the drive through, or pay outrageous fees to a useless delivery service, if you want a break from home packed lunches while you are making deliveries to places along...
Read moreService at the window was some of the worst I have ever experienced. The woman who took my order was very, very rude, and unnecessarily snarky. The man who helped me at the window needs to brush up on his arithmetic. I felt with what I ordered, while the taste wasn't outstanding, the value was definitely there, and was told my total by Mr. Math when I pulled up to the window because Ms. Speaker Snark obviously couldn't be bothered giving such information. The total was $4.24, so I gave $5.25, wanting to not only limit the amount of change he'd have to count out, while not adding to the weight of my purse. He proceeds to give me the quarter back, keeping the $5, telling me, "It was $4.24." As if my eye wasn't already twitching in annoyance, he gives me my change in the form of seven dimes-plus. Sigh. While this location is much more convenient for me, my experiences have left a poor taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively), and I will be visiting other locations in hopes that the services there will be better than the one I had today. I'm sorry for leaving a negative review, 12 Mile Checkers, but I think that the store and their superiors need to know the type of service their customers are receiving,...
Read moreWorst possible service. Signage dark in drive through. I wear glasses. Could not read the menu. Gentleman in drive through was being snippy 8:18 pm 02-26-25. I asked about deals in Bufords. No deals. No problems. Asked price. $7.38 every day. Informed I have never bern to this checkers. Repeated snide remarks w no apology. Asked cost of mother cruncher. He asked if I wanted one. I asked for the price. "I don't know bro," was the reply. I left and went to McDonald's down the street where they tell you prices like it says the have to in the law and they don't get snippy with you. Save yourself the hassle. Do not go to this checkers. They're not interested in your business. P.s. Drive through was dead and not busy. I was not a slouch. Was not looking for handouts. Do not go to this checkers. Go to a different one if you must. Missed out on a $50 order from bad attitude. Never...
