We dined at this Applebees on November 10th, 2018, arriving around 4 pm with very few patrons there. The parking lot was literally empty. The host was a young man who was less than enthusiastic when greeting us. When taking us to our table, he walked incredibly slow as if he didn't know where he was going to put us. Our waiter was Carl and he was very prompt and very pleasant, however he struggled with service. We had ordered a 2 for 9.99 appetizer special, with both orders being boneless wings, as well as a side of fries and a side of onion rings. A different server brought us our appetizers but only brought 1 order of the wings and the onion rings. We let her know that we were still needing another order of wings and the french fries. She acted confused and said she would check. We never saw her again. Carl came to the table to check on us and we told him that we were still waiting for our wings and fries. We asked for a refill on soda and a 2nd request for a glass of water. When Carl came back with the soda and water, he told us that the kitchen claimed that we had already received the food that we were missing, which we had not. Carl told us that he told the kitchen staff that we had not received it and asked for it to be taken care of. We received that food about 10 minutes later, when my entree arrived. When it came time to get our bill, Carl gave us the bill for the table next to us. Upon swapping bills, it was discovered that we didn't have all of our items on our bill and the table next to us had items on their bill that should have been on ours. It took two attempts to get this correct for both of our tables. I gave Carl my credit card to process the payment. When he brought the receipt back, I asked him to make sure to add the tip onto the final payment, which I added onto the receipt. Upon looking at my charge for the night, it is obvious that whomever processed that card did not add on Carl's tip and he did not receive it, which makes me sad because even with all of the mix ups of the night, we genuinely enjoyed have him as our server and felt bad that he was having such a rough night.
As a patron who had time to sit and observe and as somebody who has worked in food service and customer service a good number of years I can tell you that there was a lot of unprofessional behavior going on with the wait staff. The table behind us had been seated long before us (keep in mind, there were only a hand full of patrons in this building so it was not busy by any means) and had not been waited on for several minutes after we arrived and were waited on. We heard the waitress come out and acknowledge that they were basically overlooked and that some part of their meal would be compensated. The part of that conversation that really rubbed us wrong was her telling this table that her "manager made her come out and apologize" REALLY!! Somebody has to make you go tell your table that you screwed up and that you are sorry??!! The table behind us had an issue with one of the patrons not bringing his ID to be served alcohol. Due to him not being able to be served without a valid ID, he refused to order food. The waitress said to him" Really? You're not going to eat just because you can't have alcohol?" It was his fault for not bringing the ID but she did not need to respond to him in that manner. I felt that it was very confrontational. Upon leaving and heading to the front door, there were 3 male employees all standing around talking at the Hostess station, blocking the exit. None of them acknowledged the fact that we were trying to leave the establishment and I had to literally turn sideways to get around them so as to not interrupt their very important conversation / joking session.

Read moreArrived at this location at 4:45 p.m. with my wife I want to use the restroom handicap stall it was ridiculously bad I came back and told my wife about the restroom she has to speak to the manager who is very pleasant and got a staff member to clean the restroom which they did have to accompany my wife had a booth we noticed that more people were coming in and there was no greeter apparently they were severely understaffed in some departments mind you we hated this same location a week ago and once had to send back the food because it was not prepared correctly a different manager agreed at that time and got things handled and we continue with our dining experience at that point it was not the best but we made it work because we were hungry we got food to go after eating just the advertisers however on this visit because we enjoy the particular dish and the special that was going on that's why we went back in the first place this time around like I mentioned before the restroom issue the slow service but then the food came out and I had ordered like my wife parmesan chicken over fettuccine with Alfredo sauce My chicken was completely burnt The manager agreed that took the plates away we then had been there for over an hour we decided after having one beer and my wife having two drinks let's order to go since the food had not come out yet we have to start waitress to have everything packed to go which meant we were kind of scared that something could potentially be done to the food but we trusted in the Lord that our food will be not harmful to us keep in mind last week when we visited that was a $70 visit this time around with drinks and tip and we ordered a dub of portion of food for both of us to go put us in the close to $90 range we were fine until the waitress came out and told us that due to a language barriers with people in the back it was difficult for her and please be patient she told us directly that the cooks in the back said if we send back another order they don't want us to come back to that location anymore we continue to wait on the order to come out so we can take it to go it finally came now we're pushing closer 2 hours at this establishment and all we did was come to eat and at that point remember all we had was two drinks one beer and a order of onion rings I was basically exhausted behind the bathroom situation the long Wait for food we think our wages tipped her well got her name which is Nykeria, we thank her very much for her time she spent getting everything corrected even the bill was incorrect based on we got there just before happy hour starting at drinks more price differently and happy hour didn't they wear after happy hour was over My wife lost it discrepancy of the deal on The Price of the drinks again are we just got that all taken care of we were very peeved at the fact that we're the customer within two weeks spending $150 in this location easy and then finding out that we're going to be told not to come back to the location by the cooks not the waitress staff not the manager the cooks we will never visit this location again I really want to give them a one star but I will leave my ratings as they stand I'll advise you if visiting this restaurant check the restroom first be prepared to wait a long time on your food check and receipt for discrepancies Applebee's at your own risk the commercial with Coach Dan Campbell of the Lions is what got us interested in either visiting this location it's the only one in Madison Wisconsin and we're used Detroit Lions fans by advise you be careful with this restaurant Applebee's East Town drive...
Read moreSoo a month ago I decided to grab a quesadilla burger from Applebee's and long story short they accused me of not paying by the guy who has the accent (i did online a provided a confirmation email) and after figuring out that I did pay online I later figured out that my bacon (what makes the burger good) was not on. So I let them know and the guy with the accent said I will make sure you get a coupon in the mail. I knew he was lying so I asked can they just remake it another day he said no its a cooperate matter.
2 weeks has gone by nothing... I call and explain what happened to a guy manager he sends it out and i get it in 5 days! That means the guy with the accent lied. Okay whatever I got it.
I finally go to order THE SAME THING THAT THEY MESSED UP online. I get to the checkout and its says error like the site was down so I call in the order. Again I'm talking to the guy with the accent. He tells me my food is $4 and some change more than online. I explained to him that the price online is different and his exact words was the promotion is over and ended 2 days ago and I don't know what your looking at. After speaking with him wasn't getting me anywhere I asked for a manager.
A young girl got on the phone so I asked her was she a manager. She then pretended like she couldn't here me; I had to ask her 3 times before she said yes. After I got done explaining the same thing to her and asking her why don't you just look online! She puts me on hold and another lady named Jessica answers so now I'm irritated that the the 2 lied about being a manager.
I explain again to her the same thing and she immediately have an attitude in her voice. She continues to give me the run around. At this point I'm no longer calm. THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'M TELLING YOU THAT THE PRICE ONLINE IS DIFFERENT CAN YOU HONOR IT OR NOT!! I'M SURE YOU HAVE A CELL PHONE AND CAN LOOK ONLINE RIGHT NOW!
