Leaving reviews is just the worst. It should be avoided like the plague except for on stuff I want to buy. So, much like a preacher's daughter on prom night.. I swear I never do this.
Picture it. 2025, east side of Madison. Hot day, with the smell of Chipotle wafting down the block. I pull up to Denver Mattress knowing the EXACT mattress I want to buy. I had picked one out several years prior at DM with the boyfriend and it was the most comfortable bed, ever.
Barely two minutes into my visit, the manager, James, shattered my world by telling me they no longer carried that exact model. I immediately wanted to enact some sort of revenge aimed at DM for taking this dream from me. Patience..yes.
James showed me the most similar models to the discontinued model. They were alright, one a little too firm, the other too soft. He gave me a pillow and encouraged me to try out some other beds. He had great patience while I struggled between a Stearns & Foster and an Aireloom. Neither were what I came in for. They were BETTER. I am a shockingly indecisive person so one can imagine how much time it took to decide on spending that much cash on bed. I tried each bed over and over trying to find a flaw in one of them to rule it out.
Eventually, I made my decision and sat with James while he tallied up the bill with the Labor Day sale pricing. Once the hard part of deciding was over, everything else was cake. My impeccable credit granted me 0% interest for 60 months, heck yeah.
Shout out to James who had the patience of a saint and endured my indecisiveness and over sharing. He's wise beyond his years and his mattress game is strong. That came out wrong. Bro knows mattresses. 10/10 would buy from him again. Happiness is buying a freaking NICE bed and then getting...
Read moreChayse Vasquez was one of the most perfect salespeople for me. I don’t like it when people are trying to sell me on something - Either you have a good product for the price, or you don’t. And hard sales tactics (like rushing me or weaponizing FOMO) will trigger trigger an alarm of sorts in me (and in previous situations, has led to be waffling on decisions for much longer than I could have, and passing up on sales).
I was initially worried when he approached me, because I expected those tactics. I said I was just shopping around, and he acknowledged “that’s fine, let me know if you need anything, will be open till eight, so feel free to take a nap if you want.” Then he went back over to his desk and sat down.
This is exactly what I want in a store.
Even when I approached him later, explaining that I didn’t plan to buy anything but came across something I liked anyway, there was no pressure at all. I had some questions, he answered them all. I said “cool, I have to think about it, give me a bit“ and walked out of the store to walk around the block a few times. He was unbothered by this, which was perfect.
I never felt pressured, and I hope that the store managers that he was filling in for do the same thing. The best sales people are almost not sales people at all. If you have a good product, you don’t need to sell...
Read moreIt is a great place to shop, the salesperson is very accommodating and just really catering! HOWEVER , once you have it delivered it’s all on you. I bought my sett a year ago, and oh my 6 months later after a power outage the bed wouldn’t work so I called the store and was told “Oh I just sell the beds I have no idea how they work and gave me a 1-800 number to call. While waiting over 30 minutes I discovered how to reset the control myself! Now I was concerned when I bought the bed about the height, so I bought the less deep foundations and was told the legs come in all sizes. Well I was in a carpeted room so it wasn’t a problem. Then I moved to hard wood floors and the bed is nearly impossible to get into, I am very senior and short. So I called and said after checking the box of legs they left behind none were actually shorter. I had also ordered legs on line and the bed is not standard as far as using other product legs. So I explained all this to Eric and his response was”You should have thought about that before YOU bought it! And I could go to Homedepot and buy wood and stack it under the bed!” I called the district manager who didn’t return my call. So if you have no problems or questions about your purchase good for you! But it appears from my experience and others posted if it doesn’t go well TO...
