Their phone support is pretty bad. I called a total of 5-6 different times and got hung up on once (don't know if it was on accident or on purpose, I was in the middle of explaining my problem) and 2 times they never answered, the one time I did get a response I was transferred twice and had to explain my relatively simple issue over again. When I did finally get someone to help me she was really nice, I was asking to extend the in-store hold time because I was out of town and she said she would, no problem. But then a day later I got an email my order was cancelled and I was refunded, except this was for a wedding and I couldn't re-order in time so I called again and they told me they would hold it in the store and I could just buy it again. When I went in the store no one could find my order and I waited about 45 min. & was told there was nothing they could do, then when I was about to leave the manager, Theresa, found the order and was really apologetic about the wait. She was definitely professional and courteous. Also Claire & Maritza were really helpful too. I don't think I'll order from JCPennys again because the whole process was tiresome & unorganized but their staff was pleasant and they did their best to fix the situation and that made it...
Read moreI was surprised when I saw 50-70% off Christmas clearance today (Jan. 27th). I was even more surprised when I read the signs closer and it said "take an additional 50% off merchandise that has already been reduced 50-70%". Awesome! I took some time and looked through their mess. After some time I came up with 4 sets of matching pajamas for $11.40 each. I thought, well hey, can't really beat $5.70 each! right?! WRONG! I took them to the register where I found the only things NOT an additional 50% were the pajamas. While I was discussing it, I saw that the regular price for each set was $19. I said all the signs say 50-70% off original price. She said "50% off 19.00 is almost $11.40" WHAT?! I said "50% off $19 is not almost $11.40!? You have false advertising signs if it isn't going to be at least 50% off original price". I wasn't going to push it any further...but that's the kind of help JCP has...someone incapable of figuring out that 50% of 19 is $9.50! Not almost $12!. Good luck if they think someone else is going to come in and purchase the last 4 Christmas PJ's of the same style & different sizes together....without going lower in price. That and JCP just lost a platinum card member...
Read moreI had to exchange a suit jacket that I ordered online for a different size. The store was relatively clean, however all of the clothes were a little unorganized, sizes on the wrong hangers, etc. The older woman at the exchange counter was very rude and unhelpful. The suit I was exchanging was new, in it's original shipping packaging, with all of the tags on it, and I had the order invoice saved to my phone. This is a very simple exchange for most stores, however the woman made it seem like it was an enormous hinderance. She couldn't find the suit on my order, even though I had it right on my phone. I provided as much information as I could, providing invoice and order numbers but she just kept telling me to find a different receipt, even though the suit was on the one I was showing her. After wasting 30 minutes at the counter, another employee finally called down a manager for help. The manager saw the suit on my order receipt immediately and helped process my exchange.
