Camp Cantina is a vibrant, lively eatery that offers a delightful mix of Mexican cuisine and a welcoming, fun atmosphere. Nestled in a bustling part of town, this cantina has quickly become a popular spot for locals and visitors seeking great food, refreshing drinks, and a good time. Atmosphere and Ambiance The first thing you'll notice about Camp Cantina is its festive and inviting ambiance. The decor is colorful and rustic, with wooden tables, Mexican-inspired art, and strings of fairy lights that create a warm, cozy glow. The open-air seating area is a highlight, providing a relaxed and breezy environment that's perfect for socializing. Whether you're there for a casual meal or a lively night out, the atmosphere is always upbeat and enjoyable. Menu and Cuisine Camp Cantina boasts a menu rich in authentic Mexican flavors with a modern twist. From classic tacos and enchiladas to more inventive dishes like Mexican street corn and loaded nachos, the variety is impressive. The star attractions are the tacos, available with a range of fillings such as carnitas, grilled shrimp, and vegan options like roasted cauliflower. The menu also features hearty burritos, fresh salads, and delectable sides like guacamole and queso fundido. Food Quality and Presentation The food at Camp Cantina is top-notch, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish bursts with flavor, and the presentation is vibrant and appealing. The portions are generous, ensuring that you leave satisfied. The tacos are particularly noteworthy, served on soft, warm tortillas and packed with well-seasoned fillings. The combination of textures and flavors in each bite is a testament to the care and skill that goes into the cooking. Drinks No visit to Camp Cantina is complete without sampling their extensive drink menu. The margaritas are a crowd favorite, available in various flavors and made with top-shelf tequila. The cantina also offers a wide selection of Mexican beers, craft cocktails, and refreshing non-alcoholic options like horchata and agua fresca. The drinks are well-crafted and complement the food perfectly. Service The service at Camp Cantina is friendly and efficient. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and eager to offer recommendations. Despite the often busy atmosphere, the service is prompt, and the waitstaff is attentive without being overbearing. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness contribute significantly to the overall positive experience. Price and Value Camp Cantina offers excellent value for money. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a full meal with drinks, you can expect a fulfilling dining experience that won't strain your budget. Highlights and Recommendations While everything on the menu is worth trying, some standout items should not be missed. The fish tacos are a must-try, featuring crispy fish, tangy slaw, and a zesty sauce. The loaded nachos are perfect for sharing and come piled high with toppings. For drinks, the classic margarita is a safe bet, but the passionfruit margarita offers a delicious twist. Overall Experience Camp Cantina is a fantastic dining destination that combines delicious food, a lively atmosphere, and excellent service. It's a great spot for casual dining, celebratory meals, or just enjoying a night out with friends. Whether you're a fan of Mexican cuisine or simply looking for a fun and flavorful dining experience, Camp Cantina delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for food lovers, families, groups of friends, and anyone looking to enjoy a vibrant culinary experience.

"I recently visited the Camp Bar for the first time, and overall, it was a good experience. The service was friendly, with both the hostess and our server being very welcoming. My friend and I decided to try the birria dishes. I opted for the birria ramen soup, while my friend had a quesadilla. This was my second time trying birria ramen (the first was in Las Vegas), and while I enjoyed it, I found the broth here to be a bit thick for my taste. I would have preferred it to be a bit more liquid, but that’s just a personal preference. The dessert was tasty ( churro cheesecake),and the drinks were okay. Overall, a nice spot, if you are around the area “ --- Feel free to adjust it to match your exact thoughts!

Friendly service, super fast to get food out. Nice outdoor seating area. The food was amazing. Wasn't expecting the mollete to be a sandwich then was pleasantly surprised with the flavors. The guajillo braised pork was the best thing I've eaten in a long time. Such amazing flavors in something so simple. Even cooler to hear that the recipe was handed down generations before this. And I could have taken a bottle of the green salsa home.

Don't let their proximity to Camp Randall fool you -- this place has some of the best Mexican Food on the west side of campus.

While it may be busy on game days, coming to Camp Cantina any other day of the week is an absolute treat. The staff is warm and friendly, and willing to make adjustments for the picky eaters among us.

You can go for your classic "white people taco night" food, but you'd be missing out on the good stuff. Their Carnitas plate is made to near-perfection, with flavorful pork that tastes like it has generations of recipe-building behind it. Their tacos are incredible as well. If you're worried about a collapsing corn tortilla -- don't be. Not only can they hold a large heaping of meat and toppings, they're flavorful and delicate without tasting mealy or dry.

And if you have room at the end, be sure to try their Tres Leches cake or their basket of Churros....

Let me begin by stating I am a big fan of Mexican. We eat Mexican in or out of the hoke 1-2 times per week. I like authentic Mexican food and Tex mex alike.

I was excited to try this place after it opened in the neighborhood. I went there for the first time today to order takeout. The service from the hostess was excellent - candid, kind, and provided a recommendation when asked. At her recommendation ordered three tacos - carnitas, al pastor, and campechano. The portions were generous. 3 tacos was enough to fill me way over the top. The carnitas was cooked perfectly, although all of the tacos lacked sufficient flavor/salt. I am hopeful this is a bit of an anomaly as today is a game day although there do appear to be several reviews with similar comments. I will certainly try this restaurant again and...
