WHAT HAPPENED???? This place use to be great!
We got there just after they opened. We got our usual seat in the window facing the lake. We ordered coffee first as we browsed the menu. I was with 3 other people.
When our server delivered our coffee, she put down cups on the end of the table, left a decanter and left. On the cups, a huge disgusting set of lipstick marks where on 2 of them. On another, was old dried coffee on the inside rim, and the fourth, food particles stuck in the cup at the bottom.
MY MEAL:
⢠My spätzel was over cooked and rubbery. Some pieces where a disgusting green color. Spätzel should be an egg whitish yellow in color and fried crispy. These were no where neat that. ⢠The peppers and onions were put in raw. It would appear as an after thought. ⢠I was suppose to have sausage in the skillet. There was none ⢠The side of bacon was limp and fatty. It was also WAY WAY under cooked. ⢠The cheddar cheese that was indicated to be on the top was a consistency of a can of Campbell's cheddar cheese soup. i honestly think it was. It was however pretty bland. Campbell's and most Cisco brands have good flavor. ⢠The eggs were a disgusting flavor like they were old and they were also under cooked. Some parts cooked OK, some parts with the whites uncooked looking like snot.
MY FELLOW DINERS AT THE TABLE:
⢠All their bacon was under cooked, limp and soggy. ⢠The potatoes had this weird "off" taste to them that we could not place. ⢠The pancakes where served already soaked in butter and syrup. ⢠A glass of milk was foul smelling like it had sat out. ⢠The orange had a funky taste to it...
SO WOW! Something has definitely happened there. To make matters worse, I was feeling ill after we parted ways and tried to find the rest room at the restaurant. I stumbled into the kitchen area and almost got sick there. The kitchen was filthy. The floor disgusting. I finally found the bathroom and was shocked at see how filthy it was too. I took pictures, but out of kindness, I deleted them and will not post them.
We were "generously" offered a $4.00 discount for the bad coffee cups.
Please do your self a favor and do not eat here.
Sorry Come Back In, but we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were recent customers at your establishment, and regretfully feel the need to inform you of two things.
Your service staff: their inability to properly inform patrons of prices, and their "swoop" tactic upon entering the door. Before even sitting down at karaoke, your waitress was insisting we place our drink order, on a tab (while still unzipping our coats and unsettled). She continued to "attend" to us without so much as mentioning what she later described as "questionable ordering"-- as the drinks, doubles of Capt. Morgan, were so over-priced. This was our first and LAST time at this establishment, as we were not aware of the egregious mark-up on this particular drink (normally, decently cheap at other bars [$4.50 usually]). The waitress was not only too personal, but pushing further drinks, without making any mention of their inflated cost. This is shady service at best. Which brings us to the second upset.
Your pricing: $12.50 for two shots is outright theft. If you get 26 ounces in .76% of a liter and a bottle of captain is about $17.50 for .75 liters, then even at double the market price 10 oz would be around $30-- not $60. That is close to a 400% market price-- and that is completely atrocious. Even for a bar.
And when this matter was addressed with our bill in hand, we were given no way to dispute this beyond the waitress brushing us off as "well, that's the price". With such sleazy service, and after leaving with the dreadful sense of being taken advantage of (when we were hoping to become regular patrons for karaoke nights), we are surely not coming back, nor will we promote this bar to our friends-- if anything, we will do the opposite.
We are sorely disappointed in your business ethics, and lack of customer concern on this matter.
Sincerely, Very...

We came in for brunch with friends and family visiting Madison, based on past visits that have gone well. Welp not this time.
Our waitress was young and pretty attentive overall but made one major mistake. When a customer with a large group says this particular food item wasn't good at all and my guests asked very politely to take the food away because it wasn't tasting good . Most restaurants' rule is to take the food away no questions (especially if the 98% of food was uneaten) and in most restaurants this is always removed from the bill. Waitress 101.
Well...not here the young lady adds the food to the bill ,then challenges our request to have it removed. We would've tipped you better for providing a good experience and come back in-pun intended.
Instead she says "I will take off half...ahh does that work? "My response no it doesn't. I was going to escalate to a manager but decided to pay the tab and move on. Bad news is I frequently brunch there and now I WILL NOT go back plus actively share the poor customer experience with others. Audacious move young lady over $8.25. (not the money it's the principle).
Come back inn management you should train your staff better. It's all about Service there are PLENTY OF OTHER choices.
Well cheers to our last time doing business Shake my head!
Hopefully the young lady learns or others may not come...
