For my birthday we ordered the prime rib for curbside pickup. We got it home a and both our prime rib was mostly fat and gristle. We needed our sharpest steak knife and still could barely cut it. It was like chewing on a piece of bubble gum. I called to let them know (I wasn’t looking for a free meal) they I said a gift certificate would be fine. I know it’s a tough time right now and didn’t want them to have to refund it. The offered me $40 in gift certificate. Our meals were $40 each. But, I said that’s fine didn’t want to make a big deal. So tonight we called and ordered the “Fish Fry” which shows on their menu @ $15 a piece. We ordered 3 and paid the extra plus gratuity on our card. When, I got home we noticed our card had been charged $55. I called to find out why. They told me that they have 2 diffrent menus on their website right now and don’t actually have the $15 fish fry. They only have the $25 walleye. Which we were never told beforehand. I told them the fish itself was small triangke shapoed pattie like you get in the freezer section. They said its hard times right now and they gotta make some money somewhere. I get it but providing poor quality food then taking advantage of your customer with multiple menus maybe isn’t the best way. I’ve eaten at Delaney’s many times and up until these two experiences it’s been great. There’s a reason I choose them for a...
Read moreI went with my wife as an early birthday gift for her. The service was absolutely wonderful. My wife was unsure of what wine to get and the waiter gave her a recommendation of the Riesling. My wife picked it and said she absolutely enjoyed it. I had a Caramel Apple Martini that was delicious and enjoyable.
We ordered the button mushrooms as an appetizer and the waiter recommended we get a half order because of the size, so we did. Another great recommendation because you get an abundance of mushrooms.
My wife had the Pork Shank with mashed potatoes, French Onion Soup,, and sweet/sour red cabbage; meanwhile, I had the 12 oz Prime Rib special with horseradish sauce, steak fries, and a house salad with French dressing. The portions were nice and large. Her entree was so full of flavor, but she couldn't eat much because the mushrooms and accompanying French Onion soup filled her up so much, but we brought the rest home. As for my entree, I was able to enjoy it all at Delaney's. In my opinion, the prime rib on its own felt a little underwhelming. I'm unsure if they rub seasonings on it before cooking, but the horsey sauce definitely improved it.
We never had to worry about running out of drinks or being unsatisfied because the team of staff made sure everything was topped off and that it all tasted wonderful.
We will absolutely be coming back to Delaney's at some point...
Read moreI had very high expectations as I heard and read great reviews. I don't like giving bad reviews but my extremely expensive meal was left uneaten. I asked for a steak with the most flavor. The very nice server recommend the ribeye, so I chose that. I opted for a wedge salad and garlic mashed.
The wedge had very sweet rasberry dressing which was odd as most wedges have bleu cheese. There was blue cheese crumbles on the 1/2 that didn't have the rasberry vinegarette. The steak presentation was awesome on a sizzling plate. It was cooked to perfection but extremely fatty and the mushroom truffle butter gave the whole steak a flavor of spoiled meat. So, I wasn't sure if it was really the butter or the meat was old. The potatoes were plopped (seriously) plopped on a side dish and were cold and hard.
When the very nice server asked how my dinner was I had to tell the truth. I told her my taste buds did not like the flavor of the steak and she took it away. She asked if I would like a dessert free of charge. I decided on a Guinness chocolate cake. Yuk it was hard and definitely either old or freezer burnt.
Now I had been there before and I'm sure some love it, unfortunately for me it is $50 I'll...
