Denny's — Restaurant in Madison

If I could give zero stars, I would. I understand that a lot of restaurants are short staffed, but when you have staff looking at their phones, and horsing around it’s unacceptable. The two male hosts were only concerned about their phones, and messing around with each other. Meanwhile the guy manager is having to do his job, and the hosts job. It’s absolutely ridiculous to have to wait to be seated because these two boys don’t want to actually work. On top of that they were very distracting to everyone in the restaurant. Had it not been these two hosts I would’ve given a 5 star review. The manager (guy) was very friendly, and went above and beyond. Not only for our party, but for all of the customers. The waitress, I believe her name was Deja, was incredible. She was running non stop to make sure everyone in that restaurant had everything they needed! The food was fantastic as well. The queso is by far the best queso I have ever had, and my eggs were cooked to perfection! It is unfortunate that Dennys allows this behavior from their hosts, which causes people to give bad reviews, not recommend their establishment, and to not come back. In my opinion, the restaurant would be better off without those two boys!! I watched the manager (I’m unsure of his name) and the waitress (Deja) do their jobs, and the hosts job flawlessly. Maybe Dennys should give them whatever they pay the hosts hourly! Personally I’d rather wait for great service and food due to being short staffed, than wait because some of the staff isn’t...

This guy is not good for business I was just parking and he came running at my truck screaming his head off that I parked in a handicap stall. I didnt see the sign tried to explain he freaks out screaming at the top of his lungs and then placed his hand on his side arm and threatened me. I pulled my truck out of the stall he started to fabricate how I'm trying to hit his female partner with my truck she was on the side walk by front door. Then starts telling me everything is being recorded I stopped my truck next to the curb the washout wanna be cop who thinks he is former military with his airsoft molly gear on and fake chest plate places his hand on his side arm most likely fake. I start to record his actions towards myself he was having a hissy fit. This guy is a loos canon and needs to be stopped and his hopefully not real side arm removed from his possession and completely removed from this so called fly by night security company I will be following up with the owner of Dennys... also denied me to eat at the restaurant all I did was pull into the parking lot parked in wrong stall and I wish I could post the video of him using his flashlight on me and the camera. Either way heres his face. I imagine he most likely got bullied in high school and now walks with a fake badge and gun cause he demands instant respect unfortunately he will never earn it. If his job was to keep out problems he is causing more harm than good. And hey hope your boss Mike does read this and everyone else...

Went to the E. Washington location late one night with a friend. Was greeted and seated right away. Asked for water and a Dr. Pepper, server left. Server never came back. We never got our drinks. We waited for a hour and no one ever came back. The older lady across from us was seated when we got in at 11pm and was actively trying to get someone's attention. She finally got a waitress to come over at 11:30. All she wanted was a coffee refill, then they brought her the wrong coffee. My friend and I tried to get the wait staff's attention at that time and they brushed us off.

While we were sitting and waiting we noticed the following things: the buser was the only employee outside the kitchen who was actually working, and he was intoxicated on something, twice he dropped the bucket of dishes and stumbled around. The manager was sitting by the cash register chatting with one of the waitresses, they stayed they for the whole hour or so we were there and neither one was working. One waitress was serving another area, brought a table food, went to the kitchen and never came back out.

After over a hour of waiting and never even getting water, my friend and I left. Someone at the cash register (not sure if it was the manager or the waitress) yelled at us as we walked out asking if we wanted anything. A bit too late for that. We won't be coming back to this location again. Ended up at Perkins down the road and had drinks and food within 20 min...
