A recent visit to Dotty Dumpling's Dowry in Madison took me on a delightful trip down memory lane to the world of college bars and restaurants. It had been ages since I experienced the magic of affordable, delectable food in such a vibrant atmosphere.
Accompanying my boyfriend during his work trip to Madison, I stumbled upon Dotty Dumpling's Dowry and was immediately charmed by its lively ambiance. Stepping inside, I was warmly welcomed by the staff, setting the tone for a wonderful dining experience.
To start, the fried mushrooms were an irresistible delight, offering a perfect balance of crispy texture and delightful flavor. It was as if each bite carried the essence of comfort and nostalgia that college days often bring to mind.
The highlight of my meal, undoubtedly, was the Melting Pot Burger – a creation that can only be described as a symphony of flavors. Each component came together harmoniously, resulting in a burger experience that was nothing short of sensational. The blend of ingredients, the juiciness of the patty, and the overall presentation made it a culinary masterpiece that lingered on my palate, leaving an indelible mark. Was it the best burger I've ever had? The truth is, it might have been – or maybe the extra enhancement from a certain herbal friend had something to do with it, making every bite an even more elevated adventure.
I couldn't help but appreciate the staff's exceptional friendliness and patience. Despite my "elevated" state, they provided top-notch service, accommodating my needs with a smile.
In conclusion, my visit to Dotty Dumpling's Dowry was an enchanting experience that ticked all the right boxes. From the scrumptious food to the diverse beer selection and the vibrant college-bar vibe, this place is a true gem. Whether you're reminiscing about your college days or seeking a pocket-friendly yet incredibly satisfying meal, Dotty Dumpling's Dowry is a must-visit. The allure of the Melting Pot Burger and the entire dining adventure has left me craving for more. My rating? A solid 10/10 – an experience that nourished both my taste buds...
Read moreAfter hearing and reading so many good things about Dotty's I was very excited to go and experience the Burgers they are famous for. Not only did the expectations did not live up to the hype, I was also treated to one of the worse dining experiences of my life. Although I was extremely disappointed overall there were two redeeming aspects. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, it was very cozy and inviting. The other positive was our waitress who went above and beyond for us and was extremely friendly, helpful and polite. After ordering our food everything began to spiral downwards. My friend ended up changing his mind on an order so we let the waitress know that he had decided to swap one thing off his order for something else. The waitress said no problem and went to change the order, but after a few minutes the manager came to our table and informed us that it would be impossible to change the order and that we would have to pay for the food my friend no longer wanted. The manager was extremely rude during this exchange and would not attempt to help us at all. When the food arrived we were met with our second unpleasant surprise of the night. The burgers looked awful and did not look appetizing at all. The buns were cold, soggy and smushed, and the meat was dry and tasteless. They say they make their burgers to be pink inside but mine was burnt to a crisp. After having such an unfortunate first experience with the manager we decided not to say anything and finished our somehow soggy yet dry burgers. The side of fried pickles was also not very enjoyable as both the batter and pickles were tasteless. When we checked out our wonderful waitress ended up taking the food we didn't want off the check which was a very nice gesture. I don't know if management changed because our experience was nothing like the hundred's of reviews we had read before going. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will not be coming back.
To sum it up, nice atmosphere, terrible food and incredibly...
Read morelet me start off by saying that i have walked past this place a million times and have never even thought about walking in, till last night i went to a badgers hockey game and a good friend of mine said go to Dottys! you wont regret it! we where looking for somewhere close to the kohls center any way ( its a block or 2). but let me just say that had to be the best burger i have ever had in my life and i travel all over to go and try new food, but i have never ever had such a mouth watering burger in my life! the food was amazing and if i highly recommend you go and try it, but i really wanted to write this review because of our server. her name was molly, she is normally a bartender according to her but with them being short staffed she was helping out with serving. when she approached the table she had one of the biggest smiles on her face, she had such an amazing attitude, and she really cared about making you feel welcome ( you can tell she loves her job and it shows in her work ethic). i have been working as a restaurant manager for many years and as i said before i travel all over to try new food and restaurant's and have never had such an amazing server!. she talked to us at the table not just as another tipping customer but more as a long time no see friend, and that's what made this place so special and welcoming. hell she was even telling us jokes and making us smile and laugh. every time i go in to dotty's from now on i plan on asking for her to be my server and trust me i have a lot of friends that i plan on bringing to this place ( i have already called a few of them we are planning a lunch next week!) over all i give this place 5 stars and i...
