I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Main Depot Bar in Madison, Wisconsin, while I was traveling for work. I was immediately impressed by the friendly atmosphere and the friendly bartender, who made me feel right at home.
I was able to tell that the bar was a popular spot with the locals, and I could see why. The drinks were delicious, the food was great, and the conversation was flowing. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and I felt like I was part of the family.
I had a chance to chat with the bartender, who was very friendly and welcoming. He made me a great Old Fashioned, and he gave me some great recommendations for things to do in Madison. I really appreciated his hospitality.
I would highly recommend The Main Depot Bar to anyone looking for a friendly place to have a drink and a bite to eat. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day.
Here are some specific things I loved about The Main Depot Bar:

It was obviously not a business conversation based on the friendly touching of each other's hands/wrists. After 3-4 minutes I noticed the people on either side of me had empty drinks and also waiting. I decided life is to short and walked out vs guessing how much longer the employee would take to wrap the personal conversation. By walking out I avoided puttingn myself thru the internal struggle of whether I should tip or not in that situation. So the bar lost revenue, the employee lost a tip and I left thirsty....
