The pizza. It is great. They make the dough from scratch and put it together to order. The other food is good but I always go back to the pizza. Have you ever had a signature dish somewhere and it varies a bit depending on who makes it or who all is in the kitchen or even the weather? Maybe it's just me, but I love that the pizza at the Echo is a hand-crafted work of art. The dough is always fresh and yummy but the amount of sauce and cheese can vary slightly. And the coverage of said ingredients and your toppings will vary in geography on the delicious crust; gorgeous brown toasting on the outside and delicious baguette soft on the inside. Sometimes the crust is wide like a big wave in the surf and other times it is smaller and just barely holds back a reservoir of sauce and cheese. The crust is most notable in the hand-tossed (why anyone would want a lesser load of glorious wheat and gluten, as offered in the thin crust or pan, is beyond me) but if you like it one way or another just ask. I may live nearby and return often; but it's not because I'm lazy. The pizza will speak to you on...

I moved in close to the echo this summer and was really hoping to make it my regular go to bar- but both times I've gone there I've been amazed by the terrible service. The first time I went there we placed a beer order with our server, and after over a half hour of waiting for our beer I went inside to check on the server, and he flat out admitted to forgetting about me- they ended up comping our beers, so all was forgiven and I gave them another shot. The next time I went our server seemed super attentive and sweet, and we had no issues getting our beers- but we ended up waiting over 50 min for food before calling it quits and asking our server to leave. Our server told us our food was on its way multiple times, but we watched multiple tables around us who arrived and placed orders after us get food while we were still waiting. Again, my beer was comped for the inconvenience- but I still left feeling very frusterated by the...

Went here for game 5 of the 2016 world series and ordered food to go. There were easily less than 20 people inside, and only about 1/4 were eating food and not just drinking beer. We ordered the echo burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Took about 35 minutes to receive our food, and we left without checking, which was clearly a bad idea. Both orders were completely wrong, and we couldn't even bring it back because the server didn't give us a receipt with our food. The fries and cheese curds were good, but one burger was burnt and the other was very rare (told the server medium). Why we received two burgers, I wish I could tell you. Would not spend $25 here again, since my experience was only worth about $5.

Update: I stopped in here for trivia on a Thursday. Shelby is a great host! Food is good when it's done correctly but I'm still apprehensive about going during any time that could be...

I really liked eating here. It is a bar setting so it was loud and there were lots of people. We also went the night of a uw-madison hockey game but they seemed well prepared and we didn’t have to wait too long. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and it was good. Honestly there’s only so much you can do to a chicken sandwich. We also got cheese curds which were also good and not too greasy. We were seated outside which is all enclosed (because winter) but was still warm and cozy. Overall I would dine again!

We came here on a Friday evening. We called ahead to place our order for take out. We reached in about 15-20 mins after placing our order and it was all set and ready to go. We had the tofu and walnut burger. The walnuts in the burger was fantastic as it added a nice crunch. The side of fries were great but the onion rings were way too greasy. Nevertheless, nice little place and friendly staff and quick service. The food was packed very well with the burger wrapped in an aluminum foil to keep it warm.

This place rocks. Honestly I love this bar. The food rocks, especially the cheese curds. They have an awesome selection of beers on tap. And the service is always so friendly. The girl who serves upstairs during trivia rocks. Speaking of which they have an awesome trivia program every Thursday that is always so popping, typically have to get there by 6:30 to get a table and by 6:45 they are turning people away because it’s packed. Probably even busier during the school year. Echo tap rocks.
