The pizza. It is great. They make the dough from scratch and put it together to order. The other food is good but I always go back to the pizza. Have you ever had a signature dish somewhere and it varies a bit depending on who makes it or who all is in the kitchen or even the weather? Maybe it's just me, but I love that the pizza at the Echo is a hand-crafted work of art. The dough is always fresh and yummy but the amount of sauce and cheese can vary slightly. And the coverage of said ingredients and your toppings will vary in geography on the delicious crust; gorgeous brown toasting on the outside and delicious baguette soft on the inside. Sometimes the crust is wide like a big wave in the surf and other times it is smaller and just barely holds back a reservoir of sauce and cheese. The crust is most notable in the hand-tossed (why anyone would want a lesser load of glorious wheat and gluten, as offered in the thin crust or pan, is beyond me) but if you like it one way or another just ask. I may live nearby and return often; but it's not because I'm lazy. The pizza will speak to you on...
Read moreI moved in close to the echo this summer and was really hoping to make it my regular go to bar- but both times I've gone there I've been amazed by the terrible service. The first time I went there we placed a beer order with our server, and after over a half hour of waiting for our beer I went inside to check on the server, and he flat out admitted to forgetting about me- they ended up comping our beers, so all was forgiven and I gave them another shot. The next time I went our server seemed super attentive and sweet, and we had no issues getting our beers- but we ended up waiting over 50 min for food before calling it quits and asking our server to leave. Our server told us our food was on its way multiple times, but we watched multiple tables around us who arrived and placed orders after us get food while we were still waiting. Again, my beer was comped for the inconvenience- but I still left feeling very frusterated by the...
Read moreWent here for game 5 of the 2016 world series and ordered food to go. There were easily less than 20 people inside, and only about 1/4 were eating food and not just drinking beer. We ordered the echo burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Took about 35 minutes to receive our food, and we left without checking, which was clearly a bad idea. Both orders were completely wrong, and we couldn't even bring it back because the server didn't give us a receipt with our food. The fries and cheese curds were good, but one burger was burnt and the other was very rare (told the server medium). Why we received two burgers, I wish I could tell you. Would not spend $25 here again, since my experience was only worth about $5.
Update: I stopped in here for trivia on a Thursday. Shelby is a great host! Food is good when it's done correctly but I'm still apprehensive about going during any time that could be...
