Our Thanksgiving dinner by Salvatore’s was beyond reproach and more; my husband always hopes for quality ingredients creatively prepared, large portions and a fair price. We used a digital thermometer by ChefAlarm with a cable that extended outside of the oven so we never had to open the oven door, and along with the instructions that came with the dinner, the turkey and sides emerged perfectly; nothing over salted or over sweetened; smoked turkey was new for us and we are smitten; my husband does not even like white meat turkey but the skin was crackling and underneath that skin all was full of flavor devoid of dryness. That we received such tremendous value, in addition to the great food and portion sizes, was also something to be thankful for. (do I even need to mention how great the pizza is?)

I absolutely love the pizza at Salvatore's Tomato Pies, so my husband and I used their catering services for our wedding reception meal! The pizza, appetizers, and salad were incredible, as you would expect from Sal's! However, communication with the catering manager was incredibly, incredibly difficult. I'm talking hundreds of emails to nail down basic details. Nearly every communication I sent required multiple follow ups due to slow/no response. It definitely was one of the more stressful parts of planning our wedding. Again, the food was really good, but I would recommend discussing communication with them before booking them for catering services.

Had an amazing dinner at Salvatore's Tomato Pie in Madison, WI! The restaurant has a super cute, cozy vibe with attentive and friendly service. We tried: Burrata with a fresh local salad, Italian Calabrian street corn, harvest salad, Rigatoni Bolognese, Shrimp Scampi with bucatini, and Hangar Steak with Frites....everything was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Service was exceptional. The combination of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and authentic Italian flavors made the meal truly memorable. Highly recommend this spot for a date night, dinner with friends, or anyone looking for excellent Italian cuisine in Madison!

We tried Salvatore's for dinner this evening. It was probably about 75% full when we arrived around 6:00 pm. They were able to seat the four of us immediately. Our waitress arrived promptly to take our order, but we asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu. In addition to dining in, they obviously do a brisk delivery service based on the boxes we saw being taken out the door during our stay there. When our waitress returned, we ordered. A couple of pizzas, a salad, and a half Caesar salad. The half salad was delivered in just a few minutes and my friend who ordered it said it was delicious. Filled with parmesan chips, it looked amazing! Then we waited. It became a really long wait. One of those waits where you notice that the folks behind you who came in after you and yet had already finished their meal. Our server had not stopped back after delivering the half salad and I kept expecting her to drop by and say, "they are working on it", or "it will be out soon" or just to see if we needed something. It was close to an hour later when she brought out the pizzas and salad. Not a word about the wait. Maybe they got really busy with delivery orders. Regardless, it felt like our waitress should have checked on us earlier. I almost felt like she was avoiding us because she realized it had been such a long time. The pizzas were good. Tasty. I would certainly eat them again. The salad was great. I'm happy with the food, but the service was subpar. The ambiance was fine. A little loud when we first arrived but after the table next to us left...

I was visiting relatives and decided to treat everyone to Salvatore’s. This place came so highly reviewed, I thought we had to try it. We ordered around 6:30 and the wait to pick up was 50 minutes. Super long, but I thought it surely would be worth the wait.

We arrived at scheduled pickup time and called up for curbside. We were told “I’ll grab your order and be right out.” 15 minutes later, I decided to go in just to see if I could grab it myself and head out since we had hungry family members waiting. Someone saw me and checked on the order and told me they’re running behind, but it would be about 5-10 more minutes and he would bring it to our car. Another 15 minutes later, my boyfriend heads back in to see what the deal is. He sees our 2 pizzas just sitting on the counter...getting cold. They finally give him our 3rd pizza and we leave after 40 minutes of waiting.

When we get back to our place, which is not even 10 minutes away, the pizza was cold. I paid $70 for a 16 inch and 2 10inch pizzas. I mean if you’re going to charge those kinds of premium prices for pizza, then the least you can do is keep the pizza warm for carry out customers, whom you don’t seem to prioritize at all. I should not have to microwave fresh pizza after a

Sal's is great. Maybe the best pizza in Madison overall, but definitely the best pizza of it's style in Madison. Sal's is a chewy hand tossed crust with a fired stone oven. The sauce is good and the toppings are all delicious. The Forza pizza is our favorite as it's the perfect balance of meat, cheese, and simplicity. A little advertised fact is that they actually have some really good tacos as well as pizza so it's an easy double date to get a few tacos as a starter and then split a pizza. They have several beers on tap and usually have at least 2-3 that are good and most are local breweries or at least locally popular. The service is nothing special but the front desk staff are usually friendly and quick to help. Take out is also a great option and definitely one that we take advantage of frequently. The place is small with maybe half a dozen tables for 2-6 and about the same outdoor seating in nice weather. Depending on how busy they are the table waits can be anywhere from 20min to 1.5 hrs so we always call ahead to get at least a feel for the wait time. Expect dinner to be in the 30-60 min range depending on how busy they are. Take out times are usually 20-45 min wait. Overall awesome food and a...
