Ordered online. Arrived to my order not started, but they offered to start it after checking in with me. None of the open tables were clean, which my gf definitely emphasized. My Build Your Own salad was pretty good, but portion sizes were smaller than what I expected from having frequented the Back Bay location when I lived in Boston. My gf was excited to try the air fried chips, but half of them were overdone and tasted like burned carbon, and the other half were over salted. The picle ketchup was also overly sweet and tasted more like a jam than what one would expect from ketchup. It could probably benefit from less sweetener and more acidity. In all, I was very underwhelmed and a bit disappointed, given that I've told people how good it was in Boston. I think the airfry chips can probably be a thing but staff has to be careful what they put out bc the overdone crisps are basically inedible. May be worth having all staff try different levels of doneness so they have an understanding of what is good enough quality to serve. I know this is early in the store's lifespan, so I'll probably try again in a bit and...
Read moreThis is a good place to go if you're trying to stay healthy and get some fiber in your diet. Probably the healthiest place you can go to eat out on the west side without sitting down. That's why I come here.
The staff are polite, neat, and quick to create your salad or bowl. I can't say they are very personable, but most places with such a design are not able to be personable. They are the center of the business, and there's no place for them to go and recharge, away from the customers, other than the kitchen. In my humble opinion, they deserve a place to socialize and regain some energy, away from the customer's glaring demanding faces. It's also on the corner and the walls are all windowed. I would imagine this has both benefits, and drawbacks to the employees.
Anyways, I enjoy this place, although the interior design is basically just minimalist, not personable, and rather drab in a hilldale, upscale sort of way. I would prefer more protein in the bowls and salads, but it's not incredibly expensive, and it takes very little time to order and get the food. Basically...
Read moreGiving 1 star because I have to leave a review. Went in last night for dinner. My first SG bowl. Husband & I ordered pesto chicken bowls. First of both bowls were salty af. Don't know what went wrong! I guess because of the crumbled bread crumbs (?). I got only 3 small pieces of chicken and two broccoli florets. The green was just spinach. Honestly, I felt I just ate spinach & grains and lot of bread crumbs. Dressing was generous. We went around 8:20pm and they are open until 10pm. So, I don't find any reason that there should be shortage of prepared foods. The sourdough bread tasted stale. Not visiting the store again. The employee who served us was professional. They answered my queries regarding different SG bowls...
