Update 7-9-23 Decided to give them another shot. Nothing has changed. I had a curbside order however no one ever came out after I let them know I was "here". I walk in and the same employee that gave me attitude in the past was at the counter. (He is a young man, tall with black hair. ) When he greeted me he said "what" I replied with I have a curbside order. He gets my order and hands it to me and smirks. I can tell he recognized me and had the poorest attitude, once again. On top of that the piece of lettuce that was on top of my enchiladas was disgusting. Don't spend your money here, they don't deserve a dime.
Update: Cafe Rio responded to this review and asked me to email them to help resolve this issue however like another review they didn't respond to my email. It looks like they want the illusion that they care and want to make it right to the review viewers however they could care less. This is exactly how the staff acts as well so it makes perfect sense that they didn't communicate back. I will not be going back to this location nor while I ever recommend anyone else going. Hey Cafe Rio, You didn't respond to my email however you had time to respond to the review to look like you actually care however that is a lie! This is not how you treat people or run a business.
The food was good however the staff is an issue. They are rude and don't make you feel welcome, for some reason have an attitude problem for no apparent reason. If you ask questions they act annoyed and want to rush you out of the line. This place is just a few minutes from my house which is convenient however the horrible customer service and blatant disrespect makes me not want to go back. It's unfortunate. The last 3 times I've been here which have been in the last 2 weeks I experienced the same disrespectful employees. It's hard to want to spend money at a restaurant with employees who clearly get annoyed right when you walk in the door. I'm sure they pick and choose who they want to have an attitude with which makes...
Read moreAs someone who has eaten cafe rio constantly for a few years now I have gotta say I am absolutely disappointed with this location. They mess something up every single time! They always use the wrong sauces, they don't use hardly any meat and they always take 5x longer to move the line compared to every other location. The last straw happened 2 nights ago. I showed up a little late due to the bad weather and traffic. I arrived at 9:45 and got out of my vehicle, the left door was locked and so I sat there for a minute or so getting soaked in the rain as they blatantly ignored me wanting to come in. Keep in mind I order the same thing every time and I would have been in an out as fast as they could prepare the food. So I pointed to the sign that said they closed at 10 and the teenager working turned around and the older Hispanic lady looked at me and continued sweeping. I got back into my car frustrated getting ready to go somewhere else, and 3 or 4 minutes later the lady comes out to the door I was at and pointed at the other door as if it has been unlocked the entire time but didnt want to let me know that so they didnt have to serve me. Look, I worked in retail for a long time and I understand how it goes wanting to get out of there asap. Though doing what they did is absolutely ridiculous and I am FURIOUS with how the situation went down. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else and I will NEVER be going to this location again due to this. This location needs some real management in there if they ever want to do well. I will continue going...
Read moreRemember the days when the line could be out the door but 5 minutes later you'd have your food in hand? Remember when the employees would move quickly and efficiently powering through "EXTRA MEAT"s and those full punch card "FREE MEAL"s? Not only are those days over at all Cafe Rios now but this one in Magna Utah has taken it to another level, no, another plane of existence. Standing in a line slower than those at Disney World on Spring break, a line that had 15 people in it, +my wife and I, actually took 24 minutes (I timed it) to get and pay for our food. This wasn't right before closing or just after opening. This was 7:30 pm on a Friday night, when any other restaurant would have extra staff to get people through quickly. Perhaps they were doing an extra good job you might ask. My wife's quesadilla was over cooked, the shredded chicken in it dry, and my sweet pork burritos pork lacked the characteristic sweetness that makes Cafe Rio what it used to be. I have never visited this Cafe Rio before, nor will I ever again. My experience was so bad it actually made me want to discourage others from eating here. I've eaten at Cafe Rio once every two months or so since 2007. Please do something about this! Cafe Rio is a great restaurant that shouldn't be brought down by this one locations...
