Only reason why I am giving the 2 start is this place had best sashimi I had in Chicago. But the service is really bad. We ordered two course A and another one that cost $50 that should come with 30 side dishes. service was really bad had to wait so long for each course to come out. also we only got maybe 16 side dishes included the sauce maybe 20. when they told me that the soup was coming out ( usually the last thing that come out at this kind of restaurant. we only have gotten maybe 10 side dishes. I looked at the staff"its said over 30 side dishes and we only got maybe 10.she said oh you are going to get some more... WTH. I was looking around the restaurant, I did not see any difference between people who ordered $25 or $50 course. the staff did not know which table got what and I don't think I even got everything we paid for. We were there for over 2 hours. each food took at least 30 minutes to come out. The lady owner acted like there is nothing they did wrong saying that depending on the day the side dish will be different. This place really don't know what they are doing and just for people who are not used to Sashimi restaurant this is not the way the food is suppose to come out. just random when every it get ready. usually in sashimi restaurant the side dishes come out and Sashimi come out and the soup. Not side dish sashimi some more side dishes and soup and more side dishes. It was the best sashimi I had... just because it has good food does not mean that restaurant should cheat people out of what they are suppose to get. I should report this place to BBB for false...

For party of four, we tried the Bada A-Course meal ($50 per person). Other options were Top $60 or B-course for $40, maybe 2-3 items difference per course. 1st - Five different types of salad (1. plain green varieties w/ not sure of what dressing but refreshingly delicious; 2. Marinated octopus (chewy yummy), plus three other not sure what they were but all so fresh; great to eat each one separately or mixed with the plain green salad. Also, small bowl of fish cake soup (broth was ok but fish cake was very tasty). 2nd - Since two of us can't eat raw fish, asked to substitute sashimi portion to rolls and they did a wonderful job picking out the delicious rolls (refer to pic). 3rd - came shrimp & mixed vegies tempura (crispy), fried bean curd in sweet soy sauce (?) (Slightly crispy outside with soft, tofu inside, which was wonderful in texture and taste. 4th - grilled Mackerel Pike (?), marinated with sea salt. Lastly, small bowl of Korean style scorched rice soup, along with spicy cod soup (loved mixed vegies in the stew w/bean sprouts, turnips, tofu but was a bit disappointed in blend flavor.) The place was packed, so each course took some time to get to our table (30 to 45 mins); started the course around 6:30 and finished around 9 p.m. But it worked out pretty good since it was a lot of food for four of us, gave us time to pace ourselves and finish everything. Certain dishes could use more flavor (e.g., cod stew) but all the ingredients from vegetables to seafoods were very fresh, and it was an excellent value for the price. A wonderful place to take friends for...

I had a truly shocking experience at that I can't keep to myself. While enjoying what I hoped would be a delightful meal, I discovered bugs and even pubic hair in my food. I was completely appalled.

The moment I saw the bugs, I felt nauseated and disgusted. It ruined my appetite and left me feeling incredibly uneasy about the cleanliness of the restaurant. To find something so unappetizing in my food is unacceptable in any dining establishment, let alone a sushi place where freshness is key.

When I brought this to the staff's attention, their response was lackluster at best. I felt dismissed and unheard, as if my concerns were unimportant. Instead of an apology or a genuine effort to make things right, the staff seemed indifferent.

This experience not only ruined my meal but also left me feeling anxious about the safety and hygiene of the food I had just consumed. I will never return to, and I strongly advise others to think twice before dining there. It’s a shame because I was looking forward to enjoying some sushi, but this experience was nothing short...

Very very surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. It does not track with my experience at all. I came with my wife and sister based on the recommendation of my mother. We thought the sushi and food was excellent. I have been to Japan, Hawaii, and Korea multiple times. I regularly eat at Momotaro and other sushi spots in the city. I have had extremely good sushi in my life and I can confidently say the sushi here is good. We got the Set B (priced per person) and were impressed by the quality, variety, and quantity of the food. The service was also excellent. I will definitely come back and bring more people next time. I highly recommend giving this place a shot.

This place is hands down the best sushi place in Chicago. We ordered 50 dollar/person hwal-uh sushi course for two people. Like many other reviews, YES the wait time for all the tsukidashi to come out is VERY LONG. There was only one server and it was pretty slow. If you don't like waiting for really good food, then go somewhere else. I like this place because of the freshness and the effort they put when making food. There are a lot of food so prepare to have empty stomach when you go. You will not regret the long wait. also Cloud beer was an awesome pair to fresh sashimi. The only downside is they didn't provide water from the get go... I had to ask for it.
