Not only are the hours listed on Google incorrect, but so are the posted hours on the actual restaurant door.
Because of the incorrect times, it was actually humiliating for me and my guests on our first visit. I came here to eat ~1 week ago. On Google, the closing time was listed as 9:30pm. We arrived around 8:15pm. When we walked in, the server informed us they closed at 9pm, even though the door said 10:00pm. We agreed, knowing we could eat quickly.
What the server didn't explain was that they wanted us to have eaten, paid the bill, and have left the building before 9pm because they would be kicking us out and locking the doors! So because we didn't get our food until 8:45, it was so confusing and humiliating to have the staff constantly walk by rushing us to eat, rushing us to pay, and rushing us to leave, all within the span of 15 minutes.
The worst part was two people came in after us who were related to, or knew one someone in the kitchen staff because they were allowed to stay at the tables after the doors were locked and we had to leavr. Language barrier was not an issue either, because the conversations were all in native Korean.
I want to give our server the benefit of the doubt that they might have had something going on at home that caused them to kick us out in the cold and drive off one hour before the posted closing time. But some clear, proactive communication would have prevented a humiliating, stressful experience for everyone involved. Had they told us they would only be accepting to-go orders from that point on, none of this would...
Read moreThis is my second time in less than 2 weeks to dine here and I initially had a very good experience with my spouse for a weekday earlier this month. The food was good and we wanted to bring family tonight. I was not disappointed with the food and quality of the food served. The banchan offered came out right away instead of the first time when we had to wait for 20 minutes and everything brought out at one time. The dolsot bibimbop was good but not enough sizzling to crisp up the rice. The beef soup was good according to my husband. My beef tendon soup was good. The Korean pancake was very tasty and the appetizer with rice cakes and ramen was just as good as the first time we had it. We tried the pork cutlets but they charged us for the rice $2.00 AND things took a turn for the worst. They actually charged us for carry out containers because we had too much food $1.00 for small containers (3=$3.00) and for the soup container they charged $1.50.
The additional charges came out to $6.50 which is so distasteful and disappointing that even though the manager gave a $5.00 credit towards our next visit that I told him to keep the money because I would never come back.
It’s not worth the aggravation having to be nickel and dimed for little things that I’ve never been charged for. It’s petty and cheap on the part of management and we own restaurants ourselves so I am appalled at the audacity to not give...
Read moreWe were so impressed with this place! We were craving Korean food and felt so glad to have stumbled upon this authentic restaurant in Niles/Morton Grove.
Everything looked so good on the menu that we ended up over ordering with 4 dishes for 3 people: Jokbal (boiled pig trotters), Seafood Pajeon, Gopchang Jeongul (beef intestine spicy stew) and fried chicken wings. The platters looked just like the menu pictures, and everything was so flavorful and tasted so authentic as if it was a home cooked meal. We definitely could've just ordered the pajeon and jokbal and we would have been stuffed.
Jokball was tender and fresh, nicely thin slices. The seafood pancake by itself was great, crispy on the edges with the right amount of mixed seafood (not just batter). Gopchang jeongul was the highlight to the meal - savory and not overbearing spicy. Fried chicken wings were pretty good, too. This was an amazing, cozy meal.
On top of the great meal, the hostess/owner was so accommodating and kind! She gave food explanations and checked in on us often to ensure we had everything. I cannot wait to come back to try...
