Mully’s (Social 18) - Park Ridge
During a recent day date, my wife and I ventured to Mully’s in Park Ridge, intrigued by its address which led us directly to the back entrance. This unexpected starting point added a hint of mystery to our visit. Once inside, I inquired about beer options and was pleasantly surprised to learn from the cashier that we should head to the front, where Social 18 offers a full bar. This seamless connection between the two venues under the same management turned what we thought would be a simple lunch into a more enjoyable and extended experience.
The bar area at Social 18 provided a cozy and intimate setting, perfect for relaxing with a beer on draft (I chose Gumball Head).
For our meal, I opted for the Mully’s Cheeseburger, featuring a special Mully’s Sauce and paired with chili cheese fries. My wife chose the Souvlaki Chicken Plate, which she enjoyed with a side of Greek potatoes. Both meals were delicious and complemented the venue’s laid-back atmosphere.
The highlight of Social 18 is the golf bar, where guests can play digital golf, adding an interactive and fun twist to the dining experience. The service was exemplary, enhancing our overall experience.
Mark, the general manager, shared exciting future plans with us. Not only will they be opening a spacious front patio that can accommodate about 50 people this summer, but they also plan to “blow out the windows,” creating an open, airy feel by allowing guests to enjoy the outside ambiance while seated inside. This thoughtful design will surely enhance the inviting atmosphere of Mully’s (Social 18).
With its great location, innovative setup, and generous offerings, Mully’s is poised to become a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike looking for good food, great drinks, and interactive entertainment. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to enjoy the...
Read moreDefinitely NOT the 'new Wally's'! First, Wally's delivered. This place farms out their delivery service. It's nearly $10 more for delivery as you MUST pay with a credit card (for which there is an additional service charge)--no cash accepted. Got the gyros plate and 1/2 Greek chicken, both with Greek potatoes. Food was cold on arrival at my home less than 2 miles away from the restaurant and 20 minutes after the requested delivery time. The driver either walked here or parked around the block as there was no vehicle in the driveway or on the street. And the food? The gyros plate was TINY--just a deconstructed sandwich, if that; definitely not enough food to share: barely 3 tablespoons of meat, and equal portions (3 tablespoons) of onions and tomatoes. Now I know why it only came with one pita--it's barely enough for one sandwich! The Wally's gyros plate was enough for 3 sandwiches. The gyros itself was skinny little strips of dry meat, no more than 1/2" wide--almost scraps--clearly shaved as opposed to sliced. The 1/2 Greek chicken was indeed half a chicken, but Greek? It arrived covered in a yellow sauce that looked like creamed corn as opposed to the olive oil and oregano I associate with Greek chicken. The meat was both dry and greasy at the same time, and the skin was soggy and flavorless. Both orders of Greek potatoes must have been microwaved as they had absolutely zero color (other than white) and minimal spices--a faint hint of lemon, but no taste of oregano, garlic, or olive oil.
Sadly, the ONLY thing this place has in common with Wally's is the last 4 letters of...
Read moreAfter seeing the pictures and reading the reviews I thought I would give Mully's a try; I was very disappointed in the end. First off was the fried chicken sandwich, nice size but over $9 it should come with fries. The diner who had the sandwich did not enjoy it at all and stated they had better elsewhere. The fries were very overpowering salty. I ordered a gyro plate which was over $15. I felt the amount of meat was the same as a sandwich at other places I have been, usually with a gyro plate there is more meat included. I also felt the gyro was dry and again the fries were salty. Finally I ordered a chicken Philly, first I had to pay extra for peppers, phillys should already have them included. Second it was $11.53 with tax and did not come with fries. I took it to go and when I arrived home, the diner opened the sandwich and it was a regular philly, not chicken. All and all I don't think I would return, I feel there are just better places for a gyro and such. Sorry guys was just hoping I would like it to be a...
