The Shops of Uptown — Local services in Maine Township

The shops of Uptown Park Ridge are a perfect place for a family or for a group of friends to enjoy locally owned and Unique Boutique style shops. We enjoyed our visit to Tea Lula, to Uptown Girlz, and to the Fannie May candy shop as well as the subway. The parking was easy and free and this area has a metra stop right in the center for easy access from all areas in the city or in the suburbs along the Metra train line. The prices were very reasonable and it is always great to shop at individually owned stores rather than giant box stores as we are then supporting locally owned businesses. I went to the Verizon store because my phone was spamming and just being out of control. The person that worked there didn't know anything about how to fix it he deleted some things and it didn't change a thing. I went home and then I got more spam messages so I just kept him up and drove to a different location where the person that worked there was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and he took care of the problem for me. I have lived here for more than 25 years but I don't shop in Uptown much. I like Trader Joe's because it is faster than most places for a few groceries. The card store is convenient although cramped. Area dining has grown but not really attractive to me. Traffic anywhere along Touhy is bad...
