Hello! I’ll start with saying that I’ve been a Starbucks customer for over 15 years. Generally, good things to say. I’ve been to Starbucks in various countries and all over the United States. Generally, a good consistent experience across the board.. Let’s not get too specific on how much money I’ve given the company :-). Or, the hundreds of people I have brought into Starbucks over the years who also became paying customers :).
Today, I popped into a local Starbucks to work as usual, I just asked them if I could have an ice water for now, she was polite, but she said that the policies have changed and they’re no longer allowed to give someone water if they’re not a paying customer. I responded nicely with “even for someone who’s been a paying customer for over a decade?” She responded nicely, “sorry.”
The one star review isn’t a direct reflection of this store or this employee. But, they do represent a corporation and that corporation changed policies which affects their local customers everywhere.
Starbucks had $36 billion in revenue in 2024. $24 billion in gross profit in 2024. And one of your key moves was to not give water to 15+ year paying customers? And put signs on every door saying “for customers only.”

Read moreThey never answer their phone. It rings three times and says the voicemail is not set up. They get about 25% of their orders wrong. We told them about their phone several times so apparently it is on purpose. You can check my profile. I never leave bad reviews almost everything can be handled with a kind conversation. I feel this is the only way to let them know. Running back to the store 25% of the time just isn’t doable. Last week they gave us someone else’s mobile order. Today they gave us a black coffee when it was supposed to have a flavor, stevia and HWC. It had the correct sticker on it. They are big mistakes. We have let a lot of the mistakes go and just drank the wrong drink. But it is getting to be a waste of time and money. They are kind and in good spirits when we go. Read moreWent thru the drive thru and ordered my coffee Thursday morning, mind you this is not my regular Starbucks. I like just the slightest bit of cream in my coffee. Most Starbucks besides my usual Starbucks always adds way too much even though I ask for a small splash of cream. The gentleman handed me my coffee and asked me to try my coffee to make sure it was just the way I liked it. It was perfect! But I just appreciated the fact that he went the extra mile to make sure it was to my liking before I left. It was a long week for me and I was headed to a 6:30 am appointment and needed coffee ASAP as I had no time to make it at home before running out of the house.
