I saw the restaurant while I walking on the sidewalk, and it looked so nice inside, so I decided to step in. The place is designed very nice. The menu was pricey but I thought to myself it's probably good restaurant. What a disappointment! I order for a start Tuna tartar', it was ok, not something exciting for 19$. Then I order the Salmon with Israeli couscous for 26$. The waitress, who was very nice and beautiful, was wrong and ordered me something els. She apologised and said that this order is complimentary. After couple of minutes I got my order and what a bad surprise.. The couscuse wasn't a real cousecos, and far from the mediterranean dish that was described on the menu. The wanna be couscous, was kind of pasta full of melted cheese with some veggies, and on the top was the salmon with some kind of orange sauce that had nothing to do with the melted cheese...I'm sorry but the chef who made this, don't have a basic understanding of fusion kitchen , not mentioning it wasn't cooked enough from the inside ..... I didn't finish the dish. Surprisingly didn't get the compensation as the waitress said. I didn't say anything, beside it wan't good food, but seemed like no one cared. I left there 50$ on a very very low quality food. I won't fall for designed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed at a nearby AirBnB and it was recommended we eat a Nobu, Mastros, or Vs. We had just landed on a Tuesday and wanted to eat in so we ordered pickup. I got the pork chop and spouse got the risotto. I have to tell you, the pork chop may have been the best pork chop I have ever eaten. On top of this, V personally greeted me and we had a great conversation. You could tell he truly cared about his customers. For 2 days all I craved was this amazing pork chop and mushroom sauce. We ordered again tonight because I was craving the pork chop (and we fly home tomorrow) but this time it wasn't as good. I don't know if it's a different chef on Fridays vs Tuesday but the pork chop was undercooked and the mushroom sauce was watered down. I also didn't see V in the restaurant so maybe they weren't on their game. Spouse got the Jidori chicken and said it was great.
At the end of the day I had one of the best pork chops I have ever eaten....but it failed to meet my expectations the second time. Maybe an off night, maybe a different chef, who knows. I do recommend this place (just on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been here over 5 times - BEST food in Malibu. Donāt let the lack of beach views make you miss out on this place. The food and service is SPECACULAR!
I first tried this place in September 2020 for some appetizers before my actual birthday dinner at Geofferyās down PCH. While Geoffreyās basically ignored us, didnāt get our orders right, and made us feel less than special - Vās went above and beyond even though we only had appetizers there. Their waiters are so kind and caring, the food is AMAZING, and they brought out sparklers for me when my friends mentioned it was my birthday.
Since then Iāve been back several times, sometimes solo, sometimes with my bf or dog (very dog friendly) they have always made me feel so taken care of and special. Itās sad that some people would write this place off because they donāt have beach views - despite the food and experience being far superior! The mushroom tagliatelle is to die for! Iāve dined all over Malibu - Nobu, Malibu Farm, Geoffreyās, Dukeās, among a bunch of others I canāt think of right now. And this place...
