I would like to complain about the manager/owner, well he said he was the owner of the Manassas, VA location. I am 8 months pregnant and went into Glory Days on January 3, 2010 at about 9:00 pm. When we walked in it was a little crowded due to the fact of the Football games going on. When we walked in the Host greeted us and asked how many and gave us a pager, my husband asked if the bar area was still first some first serve since I cant stand up for long periods of time and the couches in the waiting area were completely full there was no place for me to sit. The host said "Yea if you can find a table you can have it" well after about 7-10 minutes a couple were getting ready to leave a table in the bar area and asked me if I wanted to sit since I looked like I needed to sit down, I of course said yes. My husband went back to the Host and handed him the pager and said we had found a seat and the host said OK Thank You for letting me know. After about 25 minutes of no one waiting on us he went up to the bar and orders us some sodas, after about 10 minutes some very RUDE waitress (Brown curley hair about mid back length and about 200lbs) came up to me and told me I had to move because there were people waiting. I told her the host told us we could sit in the bar area if we found a table available, I then told her I was almost 8 months pregnant and I'm not going to stand around again. She said very nasty "Well we will see about THAT!" She then went and got the "Manager" He had somewhat of a shaved head and is about 5'9. He came up to me and said that I had to move, I then informed him of what the host had told us and that it was not my fault that his host was misinformed that this area is no longer first some first serve and I then told him that I have very bad black out spells when I stand up for periods of time and where would I sit, and he then said "Well its not his problem that his employees had lied to me and it is also not his problem that I was pregnant, had black out spells, and there was no place to sit, I could go and sit outside until the pager went off!" I then said its about 5 below outside right now and he came back and said he did not care that I could go somewhere else if I wanted to. By this time I counted 9 empty tables that had been sitting around empty and cleaned off for 10 minutes so obviously they had tables to seat the "other customers that had been supposedly waiting" well he told me that I can either leave or he can call the cops and have them physically remove me which would be totally embarrassing for ME! so I got up and stood there and the table next to that had heard everything and let me sit in one of their empty chairs they had at their table. THAT table that we were FORCED to move from stayed OPEN and EMPTY for 15 minutes!! SO Obviously it was NOT THAT Important for us to move!!! I just could not believe I was forced to get out of my seat adn told to go and sit outside if I had to sit down somewhere! Where has peoples respect gone to? No Customer had complained about us sitting there so what was...
Read moreHost was some pimply kid with a horrible attitude. Tables were open but neither the wait staff nor bussing crew could keep up. My 85 year old grandfather and screaming four year old were with us so my dad asked if we could just sit down at a table and get settled, as the two groups ahead of us were larger than ours and there were empty tables we could sit at so my grandfather could get off his feet and we could contain my child. The host kept rolling his eyes and telling us to “wait our turn”. My dad easily spends $100 a week at this place, because he doesn’t cook for himself, and he also frequents the place whenever he wants to take us out on the cheap. My dad kept trying to explain we didn’t want service, just to sit down, even if the table was dirty. My grandfather is arthritic, getting up and down is hard for him. The host continued with his attitude until a manager came. He then tried to argue with her when she told him to walk away. There was no control over the floor, the manager was flustered, the busser was doing everything. I contacted management and no one has bothered to be in touch. I wouldn’t be here if anyone had bothered to do their job, including the VP of Operations, Gary Cohen. He responded to me that they must have been overwhelmed. I guess his paycheck is just fine and he couldn’t care less about the treatment of people who spend thousands of dollars at his mediocre establishment. Wish I could be that carefree when it came to losing clients at my job. We have been loyal customers at Glory Days on Liberia since they opened, and this is the treatment we get. We ultimately decided to leave and drive the extra 20 minutes to Sweetwater in Centreville. Thanks but no thanks, Glory Days, we will be spending our money elsewhere from...
Read moreTHIS RESTAURANT HELPED ME FIND SEED-OIL FREE OPTIONS! I have a really horrible sensitivity to industrial seed oils, and I was very nervous about trying a new restaurant (I've had very bad experiences at other places when I've risked going out to eat), but I was in good hands. Holland (waiter), Alex (manager), and Elizabeth (cook) worked me in the whole way, helping me figure out what exact oils were used in various dishes and what (from the menu) I could safely eat.
Oftentimes, I find that restaurants will assume that I can eat foods that I really can't.. usually because they don't know or understand that there are seed oils in those foods or sauces. For this reason, I was very skeptical while talking to Alex about my particular issue and the types of oils Glory Days may have/use in the kitchen. At other restaurants, I've walked away after a meal and been sick for days.... BUT NOT AT GLORY DAYS. Alex was so diligent, checking the labels of the various foods, even double-checking the sourdough bread to make sure there were no oils used in the baking process. There was only one item that was difficult to confirm, but I was so impressed with Alex who said, "let's not risk it." So I didn't have that one food, but all the rest we were able to confirm. It was a fantastic meal, so fresh, and I walked out of there feeling great and knowing I won't wake up sick tomorrow.
THANK YOU GLORY DAYS. I rarely get to go out to eat because of my condition, but your staff (Alex, Holland, and Elizabeth) made it possible! I'll...
