Please don't let the few negative reviews keep you from trying this gem! Yes, the staff is mostly foreign born (as a nasty reviewer referred to them as a "foreigner family owns it"). They are absolutely LOVELY Turkish people who have an innate respect for and cultural reverence about food. This little place is clean and well organized. The lovely ladies working the very visible kitchen are kind, hardworking, happy people. The gentleman at the register was very welcoming and friendly; as was the younger man who handed us our order! Please remember to cautiously read derogatory reviews and ask yourself, "Is it possible they were unkind to the staff?" Chances are, they were! Customs vary from country to country but we happily choose many "foreigner run" businesses because of their impressive work ethics and genuine kindness. Our bagels were THE BEST in New England so far and we only had as good in Portland Maine. The pastrami was delicious and we don't order it just anywhere. They have other locations so obviously they know what they are doing. This business model is brilliant because it's simple, fresh, and high quality food you can expect to be consistently delicious! I have been getting my bagels on and off from the Hanover Street location. Just recently with a last couple weeks the bagel seemed to be hard and left over from at least a day or two. I know what it taste like know what it taste like when you have a fresh bagel and you bite into it. They have a sign in their location that states their bagels are made every day fresh I don’t believe that anymore within the last two weeks like I said they have been giving out day old bagels, which are hard to chew and you can tell by the outside texture that they have been sitting. They should be ashamed of themselves throw those old bagels away why try to make money on them when you are going to lose business. Which now you have lost my business and I will not return because I’m not wanting to eat...

Service was average and the atmosphere the same, but for the second time in a row my bagel sandwich fell well below the standard I would expect for a $10-15 dollar bagel! I'm a foodie and a food service guy so I'm familiar with all the costs driving food and entree prices up, but that shouldn't affect the quality. For some reason, being late in the morning, I opted for the Pizza Bagel, probably because I had a couple slices of delicious beach pizza the night before and wanted more! But what I got for $10 was pathetic and lacked the flavor one would expect when ordering pizza. The night before I got two beautiful slices with pepperoni and extra cheese, and the total for both was less than this one pathetic, bland bagel that has American cheese, not the mozzarella or provolone one would expect.
