What a treat 😍 Honey Cup Cafe and Tea Room
Both of us chose the chai tea and were pleasantly surprised at not only the presentation but the personal size tea pot we were given. The tea was honestly the best chai tea I have ever had. The milk and the honey were a bonus.
The lavender lemon scone was savory and had the texture of cornbread. It tasted of the forest lol. You can see the lavender in the scone, it was unique and delicious. The lemon was either very subtle or the lavender was very strong. I think both. They served it with whipped honey butter. Beautiful presentation, it was delicious.
I ordered a Grilled cheese w/bacon added and a cup of tomato soup. The bacon was cooked to perfection. It was as if they crisped it before they made the sandwich. It was a huge panini , I loved it. The tomato soup was extremely thick ... It was comparable to condensed soup if you didn't add liquid. It didn't fall off my spoon like soup. It stayed there like apple sauce ..very odd but good. It was served with a side of potato chips and ambrosia (fruit salad).
Brian ordered a different kind of grilled cheese. It had bacon , honey mustard and apples on it. He said it was very tasty. This was served with a side of potato chips and ambrosia.
The ambiance was spectacular. It was cute , not very busy but steady , not much parking but that is Manchester for you. The music was a great mix of old timey toons , blues , jazz , etc. The rooms were beautiful , the menu had so many delicious options that we will be back for. The staff were friendly and dressed the part for old English tea time. It felt like we were indulging in some sophisticated European culture and I appreciated that.
4 stars for food. I ordered soup of the day and they served me tomato soup. The women apologized , took it back , then a while passed and she came back out and said they were out of the soup of the day. She asked me if I wanted tomato soup or to take it off the bill , so I chose tomato. The tomato soup wasn't my favorite and it took a while for them to...
Read moreVery lovely little place and we loved the atmosphere. Our server was fantastic and the owner was incredibly friendly. With all that said, the food was quite a disappointment. Several items on our platter tasted and felt like they were several days old. Our deviled eggs were very rubbery in texture and unpleasant to eat. The croissant sandwiches (with chicken salad) were stale. The finger sandwiches were incredibly basic (not bad but certainly not worth the price you pay). The various desserts were fine, but again, quite underwhelming. The website conveniently does not list the price of “afternoon tea”, which would’ve been nice to know. The final bill was shocking to everyone at our table and none of us ordered any alcohol. The website could also clarify what foods we can expect to be served for Afternoon Tea, as nothing is listed. Many of us expected that we would be ordering off the menu listed on the website, which may have been our own misunderstanding. We love what they are trying to do here and see lots of potential for...
Read moreAround mid May, I went to visit Manchester. As I enjoy trying tea/Cafe spots in every city I visit, I stumbled upon this place. And I must say, out of all of the countless cafes I've experienced, this place ranks as one of the best.
Colin [sp] and Stella were not only extremely lovely, but they were attentive, honest, and so kind to the point of seeing my intrigue of the Cafe enough to give me a mini tour; which I'm sure was out of their way with their work and attentiveness towards others.
I ordered both the Indian Spice Tea and Organic Moroccan Green Tea, which were prepared perfectly as they were in their own tea pots. For food, I ordered the egg salad sandwich, which was not only aesthetically nice [I kept the flower on the plate] but surprisingly delicious [I tend to believe most egg salad is simple and boring].
With the showroom, staff, tea, vibe, and food, it truly is a hidden gem that Manchester should be proud of, if not already. Highly...
