I’ve got to say, one of the most delightful culinary experiences I’ve had in a LONGGGG time.
I came with lower expectations seeing that Longhorn is more of a chain/corporate restaurant. I felt it would lack the love and passion it takes to cook a perfect meal because of the corporate recipes.
Well let me tell you, I was DEAD WRONG. I ordered the 22oz Outlaw Ribeye, accompanied with the steakhouse Mac and Cheese prefaced with a Strawberry Pecan salad with Raspberry vinaigrette and a Strawberry Lemonade.
The service was excellent. Checking on us to make sure we were comfortable at all times. Fast paced and to the point. When our waitress brought out that Oh so lovely Ribeye, my heart melted. She placed that THANG in front of me and my nostrils were dancing. The excitement became overwhelming and I couldn’t help but dive in right away.
Let me tell you... it’s hard to impress. I swear it is. I’ve gone to so many restaurants, eaten so many steaks, and don’t get impressed. But THIS TENDER FENDER BENDER (DAYM DROPS VOICE) just set the bar. I asked for a medium cooked steak and got JUST THAT. With a char-grilled edge to it. But let me tell you the juice was oozing out like a water slide at Six Flags. You take a piece of that THANG....... place it eloquently in your mouth, and let it melt away. EXPLOSION OF FLAVOR.... juice exploding like a water balloon, texture from the char-grilled edges. It all came together PERFECTLY. Scale of 1-10? Forget that, Longhorn better start teaching How to cook steak 101 (and make sure Outback Steakhouse is in your class.... more on that later). And not to mention the quality of the steak, A-1. Rarely any fat at all. I got to enjoy maybe 21oz of steak. Phenomenal. All for $27.
But wait a minute NOW! I got carried away. Steak was lovely. But let’s not forget about that STEAKHOUSE MAC AND CHEESE BABYYYY. I’m talking CREAMY.......Stop it.... I’m talking SMOKEY..... stop it. IM TALKING BACON! Oh LAWWWDDDD. There is nothing topping it. NOTHING! The perfect pairing together. Wow.
I know I’m working backwards here but let me hit you with this salad. I know, salads are simple. But let me tell you why this salad wasn’t. They offered for me to get the Strawberry Pecan salad..... let me just say this... FRESH! Refreshing! Vibrant! Grapes, strawberries, pecans, feta cheese and a beautiful Raspberry vinaigrette.
Let me just let you guys know. If you’re considering Outback, don’t think twice and come to LONGHORN. Outback is around the same prices, but FAR LESS quality. I went to Outback a few days later and ordered virtually the same thing. Long story short because they don’t deserve much talk..... steak was asked to be cooked medium, it was dry, bland, half cooked, half RAW. Steakhouse Mac was dry, bland, taste like box macaroni, and salad was regular nothing special. I paid the same amount of money . GO...
Read moreLet me start with, I have LOVED longhorn for many many years. My husband knows this is my go to for special occasions. But I have had a bad experience the last few times at the Manchester location that makes me want to find a different steak house to eat at! I won’t go through them all, but the Last time before tonight, I waited in my car for curbside for 20 minutes after I entered my space number and there was no service for me to be able to call longhorn and so we went inside and still had to wait almost 20 more minutes for an order that was suppose to be ready when I arrived! And I had forgot that experience until I was once again in this situation, so Then this time is what made it the last straw! I arrived 13 minutes before my 9pm pick up time.(I ordered at 8pm)I noticed I couldn’t use social media and look at the top of my screen and it said SOS where WiFi symbol should be and I’ve never seen that, so I was like I won’t get a text that my food is ready if I don’t have a signal, so I drove away from the restaurant across the street until my service came back and 2 minutes later, the text came through, so I started back into the parking lot and seen 3 was open and put that number quickly before I lost service, BUT right after I clicked it, someone pulled into that space and since 2 out of the 4 spaces were used for people dining in, not curbside pick up like it should be, I had none to park in. So I tried to call to let them know I’m not the one in 3 and I didn’t dress to walk in, so that wasn’t an option. But as soon as I called, I was put on hold and 10 minutes later after I kept being re-transferred to pick up, someone came on and of course all of a sudden there’s no service again and it said call lost. I had to wait until the lady finally came out at 9:28pm to stop her to let her know that that was my order, not that person who was in that spot. And OF COURSE my steak was F’n burnt! Like what! And The bread was cold as soon as we received the bag! I have never had such a bad experience! This place needs to get more organized to be able to handle so many customers at once, cause your organization skills and terrible cooking should not be affecting the $25 steak I paid for! I can still taste the burnt flavor over...
Read moreFantastic food and excellent service (Murphy was professional and her timing is impeccable). I was seated right away, order placed in a timely fashion (Outlaw Rib Eye cooked medium, loaded baked potato and steamed broccoli) and the food came out in a very reasonable time, cooked exactly the way I wanted. The bread served as an appetizer came out very warm and is sinfully delicious, especially with the whipped butter. The flavoring of the steak was very good, and has just the right fat content to add to the flavor, but not too much as to take away from the amount of meat. My only complaints are that they crust the mashed potatoes in a lot of salt (similar to how Outback did theirs). For those of us with high BP, this isn't good and needs to be much clearer on the menu. If I was aware, I would have ordered something different. Also the booth seat I was sitting in was sinking (padding and support springs are well worn and need to be replaced)and I found myself partially sitting on the center brace which was uncomfortable, leaving the table to be almost at chest level (I'm 5' 8", so I'm not short). Other than that, everything was great! Food is priced according to what you get, both with regards to portion and quality of the ingredients. Suggestion for management; can you please see about stocking darker beer like stouts or porters? Not everyone wants ales or IPAs. Thank you! Will...
