My girlfriend and I come here quite often so we've had quite a bit of their stuff.
Overall mulberry is a very nice restaurant and bar with a great staff.
Drinks: The drinks are good and what you would expect from a bar. They have some specials worth trying. The prices alone are cheaper than most places which is a surprise. Expect about 8 a drink.
Food: Food here is excellent in my opinion. The wraps and sandwiches they have are quite nice and the apps are insanely good. The nacho dish is massive, so it's definitely worth the cost and you'll probably be full for 2 people. The calzones are a huge upset and are way too overpriced. I once got one to try and there was only filling in the middle, about half of it is just just cheese and breading. It was somewhere around 26$ and honestly didn't fill me. Pass on these unless you can't eat anything else. The chicken sandwich is like a Chick-fil-A sandwich on crack, definitely try it! They have a pork belly sandwich, it wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Most other items in the menu are pretty good though. Very good and interesting selection for specialty pizza, you'll be stuck between 3 or 4 that you'll want to try for sure. Prices for food are a bit high, but the quality is very good. If you get a sandwich, add the onion rings for $2 and you won't regret it. They have some really unique onion fries/rings!
Service: We came in here once playing Pokemon go and they remembered us since. Kept coming back sporadically and every single time they knew us They don't rush you or try to get you out the door and give you space. Our waitress let us play for a while and said when we're ready we can flag her down, how awesome! The most recent time we came they remembered our order to the T, the last time we were there was over a month since that visit, crazy!
Other: Bathroom is tight to get into as the hallway blocks the entrance kind of, just an irk. Manchester history is shown all over so it's cool to see and read it either in the bathroom or observe on the walls in the restaurant. Dining is somewhat casual, nothing fancy but typical restaurant vibes. Never got too loud where you have to shout to the person sitting...
Read morei had, until recently, very much enjoyed his place... but after last night, i absolutely will not return. we arrive at 620 on a Wednesday night, put our name in and were told the wait would be 25 minutes. we were sat at 725... an hour later. and this was the biggest problem. if the hostess had been honest with the wait time, we would have politely declined to eat there, and sought food elsewhere.
once we finally were seated, everything seemed to be improving, we were promptly attended to, drinks received, and food ordered. it is important to note, that in this time, the place absolutely emptied out, to the point where there were only 3 tables in the dining room, us being one of them. the appetizers came out quickly, but the pizza and salads were another story. two of our party became disillusioned and told the server they were cancelling their orders. these two left. it was now 830, we had arrived at the restaurant more than 2 hours before. once the food finally arrived, the remaining of our party decided to eat the food... since it had finally showed up. this is where everything goes down hill. after informing the server that we had been waiting unreasonably long, she told us that she would speak to the hostess and the owner. at this point, the hostess, owner and server came to the table to loudly berate us for being impatient, to make excuses for their conduct, and to inform us that we were wrong, we had not waited long, and had received everything exactly as we should have. upon attempting to get them to remove the items our friends had cancelled from the bill, we were met with another round of excuses, and an outright refusal to accommodate us in the slightest. we paid for food we did not eat, and did not want, and there was absolutely no attempt by the owner to even attempt to salvage the situation.
this place may have good food, but i refuse to go back to a place where i'm treated like cattle. they could have at least taken the canceled food...
Read moreTonight my familyhad our second experience with mulberry. I'm sad to say it more than fell short of what our first experience had brought us to expect. Our order was two sides of boneless wings and an 18" Gladiator pizza. The wing flavors were quite good, the buffalo had a unique flavor while still carrying the spice you would expect, and the BBQ was a standard flavor, no more and no less. The major issue I had tonight with this meal was that one box of wings had 4 strips, roughly 5 inches each, while the other was full, having about 8 strips and a few smaller pieces. When I had contacted the restaurant to stress my concern with the portioning I was directed to a manager who explained to me it was a matter of "weight" not piece count. Perhaps im mistaken, but both containers had chicken which was breaded inside them, so in theory they should occupy the same space in order to be the same weight. Clearly this attached photo shows otherwise, and that is after my significant other had taken a buffalo piece from the bunch. As for the pizza, I was not overly impressed. Their advertised "hamburger" was more of a meatball mush all over the pizza, and the bacon was beyond overcooked. It looked like overcooked steak-ums, and was only identifiable as bacon due to it's salty nature. The pizza was sloppy and floppy, but that I expected when I ordered a pizza as loaded as this one. The outer crust was that crunchy thin crust I expected from oir last order out, and was honestly the most ebjoyable part of the pizza. All in all thw food was only a 2 star experience, but the gentleman taking my order was super polite and more than helpful with the process of placing the order. The next time I order pizza from here it won't be a Saturday night or anytime soon, and it sure won't be anything more than that, because I'm not sure if I'm getting what I paid for based on the...
